Another lovely day for gardening in Bristol.  I went shopping and could not resist a pelargonium in the flower shop called Graziosa Royal White which is in full bloom and will take pride of place on the picnic table tomorrow.  Will make four sponge cakes tonight and 30 scones tomorrow morning early.  The garden had a good drink of rain last night so no need to water today which gives time for other things .

Rain has stopped play in my garden for today.  Forecast for tomorrow says will feel like 11 degrees because of the wind so, although it will be dry and we will be able to go on safari up the garden I plan on serving tea in my big lounge as 11 is too cold for elderly ladies to sit outside in, in my opinion.  Always best to have plan B on such occasions.

Oh my goodness, it did not stop raining till 8am and now my garden is drenched for my open day.  Tea in the lounge and kitchen it is.  Thank goodness I have two back doors - visitors can come in via the kitchen or conservatory so no bottleneck and queueing in the rain!  I am hoping it will stay dry all day in which case a safari will be possible and the duck pond outside the kitchen door will be gone down the soakaway.  The water table is very high now so it forms almost as soon as the rain begins.  Over the years I have always been blessed with good weather so must not grumble but rise to the challenge.  I know i can talk for ten minutes at least on the plants in the conservatory and another ten on what you can see from the conservatory!  Some good pictures here from one of my recent visitors from Pittsburgh in PA. Lovely Pelargonium Marion, and lovely pictures from your friend's blog.  I'm sure that even drenched your garden looks lovely.  I may not post much on your thread but follow it avidly.  Good luck for today, it will go well without a doubt image

Thank you, BizzieB.  It is still drizzling but the sky has lightened a little.  The 9am forecast said rain for all day!

Visitors all gone home now.  We did manage a safari up the garden in the dry interval and the ones in sandals had wet socks afterwards!  But the tea went down a treat and everyone thought the garden was great.  I told them all about my trial plants and how exciting it all was.  The organiser went home with broad beans for supper!  They had a collection for the Botanic Garden which they will be pleased about.
