Ha ha! KEF it was meant to say greenhouse but my phone keeps auto correcting it to conservatory! Most weird Alas I'm off out later to sit in tne museum so will miss the best of it.
A little while ago I posted here praising Stafford Hospital's care of my sister in her final days.......in view of recent media coverage of poor/horrific care of patients in care homes I would just like to relate my sister's care in her care home.
In her care home she was cared for extremely well and was happy and contented at all times. Two of her carers attended her funeral and were in tears along with close relatives.
I suppose I just wanted to say that whilst not being newsworthy, there is a lot of very good people out there.
Hear! Hear! David - I thoroughly agree. When my Pa went to live in The Lovely Home he'd been given a maximum of 6 months to live by his GP and the hospital - he'd nearly expired several times and the Liverpool Pathway Plan was written up for him. That was in 2010!!! The amazing love and care given by the staff there is fantastic - yesterday he was looking forward to entertainment by a Doris Day lookalike - that's a sure-fire way to keep him chipper at 94 years old! Ma's ongoing slide into confusion is being dealt with so kindly and with such understanding - I cannot praise the staff highly enough.
As you say, there are a lot of very good people out there - thank goodness!!!

Morning all, just checked my weather station logs - went below freezing between 1.30 and 7am last night, reaching -2.1C at 5.30am - good job I earthed-up the spuds when I got come from work yesterday. Amazingly it's 16C out there now! I'm off outside as it's warmer out there than in the house!
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
Three whole days stretch before me .... Very happy chicky. About to go and unfleece the GH - think we escaped frost too.
OH has half built his dry stone wall - looking great. Littlest chicklet has DofE camping trip tomorrow and Monday, which will require some taxi-ing ...... But other than that, the garden awaits my undivided attention
Fairygirl, Dordogne is very green and forested, rains quite hard. Winters usually colder than UK and summers hotter. Often in the 30s. But it never seems typical! Some years people talk of drought, others, of too much rain or snow. Rather like England, but more extreme.
I love it that Chicky's children are chicklets!
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Oooh, bacon and mushroom - now I'm hungry - I'd better get dressed and go up to the farm shop - brunch is calling ............
