Could I ask what a TENS is?

    Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation.

It has four pads that you put around the painful area, plug in to the mains, and it stimulates nerves and causes muscle contractions, and this seems to reset the pain threshold or calm it down. It seems to work best on nerve or muscle pain.

As  strong painkillers make me dopey, I find this is often the best way to cope if Ibuprofen doesn't work.  It works well on back spasms too. My machine also has a massage and heat programme.

A TENS machine is a wonderful device that gives stimulation and pain relief to the bits that tablets don't reach. Used to have one on my shouder and neck before special meds. and an op,

Relaxing, works off a battery and has little pads that give vibrations - which all sounds veryimageimage but isn't. Used with a wheatgerm pad - bliss

So sorry about your ring Mrs. G. Know how it feels. Lost my engagement ring one spring, but then I found it in the glove I wore for stoking the fire in the autumn! Then a few years later I lost my wedding ring when gardening. Daughter found it in the gravel path 2 years later just before we moved house!

Shifted 5 barrow loads of heavy wet (keeps raining!) rotted manure from the paddock to veg garden. Shoulders ache.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Hope it eases very soon fidget, take care
