Is it confirmed now Clari, gluten intolerant? or are you still having to cut  out / slowly reintroduce other things as well?

Gluten has been confirmed, as has apples & apple juice (but not cider?), anything that's fizzy (i.e. cola) and caffeine. We're still working through everything else (I'm currently slowly introducing dairy) but we are at least starting to have interesting meals again image

    Been to supermarket. Still raining.

Cider is fizzy so I suppose that's out too Clari.image Gluten intolerance seems to be getting more and more common. I wonder why.

Going to lunch with friend tomorrow, doing pud, have lots of lemons. Lemon tart or lemon drizzle??

    Looks a lovely place GG.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Thanks Gg ... you managed to camouflage the untidy bits very nicely  image

Busy - I've tried (in the name of science image ) still cider and though I can't have too much I didn't seem to get the reaction I get with everything else (can't drink real ale so it was a very nice surprise!)

There are several foods I can only eat small amounts of (garlic, beans, and onion for instance) but that is easy compared to standing in the way at the supermarket trying to read all the ingredients! I do feel sorry for those who have a child with an intolerance who have to try and feed a family while also catering for their needs and listening to the "why does my friend at school get to eat.."

Its strange how so many people seem to be getting it now - certainly I had my fair share of mud and farm yard germs growing up (many people say that allergies are often caused by your mother being too protective and bleaching everything in sight) I wonder if the way we process food like wheat has changed the product and some of us just can't process it? I'm sure there are hundreds of ideas why and thousands of people who think that many people "choose" to be intolerant because its the latest fad which push the figures up.

The doctor said mine could have been caused from an infection that weakened my immune system, as the result of trauma caused by "The Crash", something in my genes, or that I could just be an "unlucky one"... it seems there are so many things that can cause it! Still of all the things to suffer from at least this I can control and am not reliant on drugs / scary operations. For that alone I am grateful.
