Love the horses chicky. I'll bump the thread up.  Just so long as verdun doesn't put his fantasy snake on. I thought the real one I saw at Bressingham was bad enough. I hate snakes.

    Morning all.

There's a big shiny thing in the sky this morning and no wet stuff falling from it. Is this a sign of Armageddon?

Hope those " up North" haven't been hit too badly by Henry

    Devon.
  • Lily P - yes the wind turbines have a mechanism for slowing them, or reducing torque in strong winds, or even stopping them all together in high winds.  Explanation here  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wind_turbine_design otherwise the ones off the north Norfolk coast would take off and be in outer space by now!!!

    Good morning/g'day allimage

Little sleep last night (waiting for the next bang) but luckily there is no damage.  Plenty of rubbish in the garden though - beer cans, polystyrene, crisp packets, plastic bottles, wicker baskets, etc.  We've been very lucky. Hope no-one else has suffered any major damage.  Glad you're OK LilyPimage.  Hopefully Fairy and Bushman are too.

Love that pic chickyimage.  Perhaps you could do something similar with deer?  It might make your regulars think twice before invadingimageimage.

Time to get the dust sheets out again.  Hey Hoimage

    Have a good day everyoneimage

    Morning all.

Very cold and blowy again, but there is a small hint of yellow in the sky.

Hoping to get out and cut back some more of the dead perennials, and remove more leaves from the borders.

It is difficult getting used to a temperature swing of 27c. to  4c. in a week.

    have a good day all.

  • Just popped out and pruned the grapevine - that's one job ticked off the winter pruning list.

    Very soon I must:

    • cut the autumn raspberries down
    • prune the gooseberries
    • prune the fig
    • prune some clematis
    • prune the roses
    • cut/restrain some honeysuckles
    • make rhubarb crumble - it's almost ready!!!
