LP - hope you're getting the leccy fixed. Need any candles?  image

Think Mr B knew he was on borrowed time, judging by his new album.

No more snow here, but a cold wind Liri - it did try to snow again yesterday afternoon though and I think we might get some in the next few days. A lot on the hills from about tree line level - 1200/1500 feet. North west has got the most because, unusually, the north east has had so much rain due to the direction of the weather fronts.

Evening all. Sad about Bowie, didn't like his music but appreciate that many did.  Have been to Merry Hell today, it wasn't too bad, only went to keep my friend company but still managed to buy a couple of things for 'Bump' (my name for forthcoming grandson).

Fairy, sorry to diss your national dish but just the thought of it makes me gag, I think it's the texture, avocado has the same effect.

Is anyone else getting a bit fed up of all the charity ads on TV, I used to work in the third sector and fully understand the need to raise money but it's getting to the point when I just turn over, or pause the TV before the ads start so I can wiz through and avoid them.  We have a standing order donating to our chosen charity and always dip our hands in our pockets on Red Nose Day and Children in Need, but it seems that someone is always trying to make me feel guilty about not supporting more and more charities.

    Hope poorly peeps feeling better.

No avocado porridge for you then, Yvie?  image

Yvie - I agree with you about those ads. They seem to be more prevalent on certain channels. I also pick and choose where I donate my my hard earned cash.

I can understand you not caring for porridge. I didn't like it as a child - mainly because of the way my mum made it! I came back to it as an adult and I'm very particular about how I have it...  image

Texture of food is such a personal thing - I don't like beans in general  - that grainy thing they have  image

Can't bear anything I have to really chew through such as tripeimage, whelksimage, gristle image, unrendered meat fat imageimage . Or anything stringy such as runner beans with stringy bits (just like mother used to make) and cooked rhubarb. The strings always make me think of hair in my food and I have a bit of a thing about hair (in the wrong place) - even my own LOL

Like porridge lots - but only when made with milk - not too runny - and a spoonful of syrup on top. Top of the milk round the edge is good too ...
