Morning all, you were all very busy on here yesterday, too much to catch up on!! I was was out all day in Nottingham and traffic was horrible, then an hour piano lesson so didn't get on.
Hope you are all ok. Thanks for the Lily comments, I feel a bit better now, I couldn't remember when they came up last year and the year before and thought maybe it was early. Jan but must have been wrong. Although, they were in a more sheltered position (but with less sun) as I have moved them.
I forgot to add on Sunday that I didn't just not do gardening out of choice! my grass is still like a big and I need to walk on it to get to the border and daren't risk it any more at the moment.....so frustrating!!
Well that's all for now.....catch you all later and have a good day
Sorry to start with a sombre note, but I'm off to a funeral this morning.
One of my friends from the allotment - an old fellow who spent his life working in the local brewery, Wethereds, until it closed, and worked on the same plot for nearly 50 years, kept chickens up there, and distributed free eggs to us all - he also found time to go round with his mower keeping all the grass paths looking fine.
He was a typical local countryman - he couldn't read, and I don't think he had much interest in anything other than gardening, but he was free with his knowledge to newcomers who sometimes struggled - a good and generous man.
Pentillie, very sorry to hear about your friend. No doubt you and all his friends on the allotment will really miss him. Sounds like he had a lovely attitude to life and enjoyed it. Hugs and I hope the day is as okay as it can be.
How sad Pentillie, thinking of you today and all your other allotment friends saying goodbye I'm sure your friend will rest in peace knowing how much of his knowledge he has shared with others over the years, nothing can replace that. ((Hugs))
Sorry to hear your sad news Pentillie, thinking of you today. So very sad but he will leave you and all your allotment friends so many lovely memories. And all his help and information can be passed on. Hope today goes as well as it can. My very best wishes to you Pentillie, and hugs. x

Hello to everyone else.
Still sat in bed (oh the joys of a day off) - but the woodpeckers are going mad out there, so thought i would share !!

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Morning all, looking like it might be a nice day, water now largely gone, except in the boggy beds, which is fine.
Hope to get out and do some stuff.
