OH and I have been to the coast - we had a pub lunch (very good fish and chips) and walked on the beaches at Mundesley and Happisburgh, taking photographs as research for work in the studio at a later date. We also sat in the car on the sea- front, saw a cormorant flying along the coastline just skimming the waves, and watched turnstones, black-headed gulls and juvenile herring gulls strutting about on the sea wall close by, then drove back through the Norfolk Broads - beautiful landscape.
Think a very light supper is called for!

I agree KEF, whilst we feel an enormous amount of sorrow for Bill and his family, I'm sure he will also enjoy reading our light hearted 'chit chat' when he is able to pop in.
What has everyone been up to today?
We crossed over there. Hugs for you for your post earlier x
You can always tell a cormorant or a shag when they're flying - they're pitch black and fly along the coastline, parallel with the beach, just a couple of feet above the waves, never veering off course, never wavering - amazing.

I found my hibernating cannas, they look a bit mouldy so I will have to do something about that tomorrow - wipe it off, give them some air?
Tidied borders, only removing dead stuff for now in case of frosts. Decided I wanted a stumpery so gathered tree which fell last year, old branches from other stuff which never got burnt, and 'shoved em in a corner' - hey presto a stumpery!
Painted inside of my new cupboard and general HW, busy busy day.
Glad you had a lovely day Dove, and KEF you'll be safe soon - that is if neighbours fix their fence! Lots of peeps working today I think, and hope others on days out have had a good time.
On our journey out towards the coast it was lovely to see lots of wild prunus blossom in the hedgerows, there's lots of feral mirabelle-type plums around here as ages and ages ago there were a lot of orchards here.

Very sorry to hear your news ,Bill. A parent should never have to bury their child.
I have been with family today. A pub lunch to celebrate Mums 81st birthday yesterday. Apparently the landlord is one of the chosen ones on "the voice". We didn't get a serenade though. Eight of us. Mum, two of her sisters, two neices and three daughters. After a complaint about the chips we got two large bowls of fresher ones, and then went back to mums for coffee, cake and choccies.
I think something light for tea. Have a good evening folks. Work tomorrow for me in the wilds of Derbyshire.
