Fidget - your pond sounds perfectimage.  We have plans to create one - its gone on the project listimage.

Gg - sounds like an interesting selection - don't know that anemone, is it a spring or autumn flowerer?

about to hit the sack - storm/worry kept me awake most of last night, so i am now cream crackered.  Might read a few pages of Anna Pavord's The Curious Gardener before i drop off.  Enjoying it so far - will let you know if it should go on your C******* listsimage

gardengirl I have a pond too. Semi natural in that it is fed by a stream and the outflow then returns to stream. Very congested with reeds and bullrushes at present. Regularly silts up with mud carried down from moors.

Is fantastic for wild life. Get many interesting birds, some years ducks nest and herons regularly come for the brook trout and frogs.

I thoroughly recommend any type of pond. There is always something to look at and it gives you many new plant opportunities especially if you put in a bog garden around it.

We're trying to decide where to dig a small pond and bog garden this winter - got builders coming after Christmas so might get the builder's 'lad' to do the 'heavy digging' as there are bound to be some roots from the ash trees in the way.

Just finished tea and I was telling OH about some of the threads and how more people are using the ignore button. She loved that idea and intends to use it on me!

Watching tv whilst my boys 17 and 18 are playing an ancient board game of blockbusters. The questions are so dated.

    The choccies sound lovely.

Think it will soon be time for me to sleep.I'll probably dream of chocolates
