Morning all.  Its meant to be my 500 day today but I'm having stomach issues at the moment so may have to see how we go. At least no food means belly is empty through my choice not its own!

I found I have more energy on the diet and unlike other diets you don't feel hungry because you only have to remind yourself tomorrow you get to eat normally.  What it does teach you is how many calories are in what you'd think is a healthy meal - Like a Tesco prepacked salad at 578 calories!

Woke myself panicking that one of the lambs in the barn was in distress.

    I don't have any lambs

    Nor a barn.

  • Good morning all image  Sorry, got an early night .... no I didn't feel hungry at all after the first couple of days.  Yes the water helped deal with that and no, I didn't spend all my time at the loo after the first few days, although of course I did visit it more often than I used to - and when out for walks in the countryside I got to know a hedgerow or too image

I think I should stress that Very Low Calorie diets like that have to be done under medical supervision - regular BP checks etc, and the food you do have has to be really properly balanced otherwise you would run the risk of nutrient deficiencies etc.  I did the one that Pauline Quirke did, but I did it before she did image.   I'd had a medical condition that had affected my metabolism and made me put on weight, and that coupled with an injury that stopped me getting about and burning up energy for a long while, plus enjoying cooking and then doing a fair bit of boredom eating had caused the problem!!!

Right, this morning is damp but it's not raining at the moment, and the sky is brightening.  Temp overnight went down to 0.4C  - it got up to 10.4C yesterday which is the highest it's been for a while.  Currently around 5C.

OH has a trip to the dentist at 9 this morning - when he gets back we're going to drive out to the coast and maybe do some sketching/take pics to use in the studio.  We may even have a pub lunch!  Have moved our 5:2 days to tomorrow and Friday!

  • Lmao oh clari was the dragon attacking it??

  • Oh, good morning Stacey and Clari - didn't see you two sneak in there image  Clari, I used to have repeated dreams very similar to that - spend the next day feeling slightly anxious 'cos of the lambs (or in my case horses)image  Don't have them any more thank goodness image

Morning Clari,Stacey,Dove - my its crowded here this morning!  Must be that dawn chorus creeping just a bit earlier every day.

dentist yesterday, but passed a flower stall selling native primroses (farmed, of course!) at £1 a pot - so bought a handful to go under a couple of new trees that went in last autumn, and are looking particularly bare at their trunks.  Tree order arrived - not unpacked yet, so have not worked out what is in the 20ft parcel (assuming it is a cane - or a very tall cherry treeimage)

day out in London today with my girls, my sister and nieces.  Going to the tower to see the crown jewels, and possibly some ravens ......

  • Good morning Chicky - when you go to the Tower, go across the road by Tower Bridge (there's a coffee shop if you need an excuse) and walk towards the front of the hotel there and the river bank - the scent of the huge planting of Sarcoccus there is absolutely intoxicating. image

    good morning all.

Looks like there's been a light frost overnight. Sun rubbing her eyes trying to say hello this morning, lets hope that's a good sign.

Chicky and fidget, have good girlie family days out.

Wouldn't know where to start with 500 cals/day, too much counting I think. Suppose its like stopping smoking (never smoked) and your mindset needs to be in the right place before you start, ok im just too lazy! Good luck everyone doing it.
