Time for a quick sit down. Missing teeth were found, but only after an extensive search that involved the movement of all the bedroom furniture, revealing lots of places that my duster never reaches.
Got nearly all our prep done (to Carols from Kings here too...followed by Perry Como's Christmas album, because it was my Mum's favourite) .....about to head off to a christingle service. Will dress the turkey later - before i have too many mulled wines.
Hope you are all enjoying your Christmas Eve's .....with luck I will pop in tomorrow morning before the rest of my household stirs......might try Bob Dylan here too
Chicken's on here, with lots of stuff up his doodah. Decided to make some bread sauce as I love it. Forgot to get some croissants and pains au choc for fairylets' breakfasts. Do you think they'll notice?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Fairy let them eat cake. Fairylet has done a super job on the cake decorations
Panda and Toobird I find that most of my cooking goes off piste nowadays - depending on which ingredient I've forgotten. We has French onion soup for lunch and I set the table with forks.
Lizzie you're well ahead of me but I do like to get the Christmas Day table set before I go to bed.
Did sm shopping with a few too many Brandy's in my coffee but was quite successful! made it home and while I was still p*****d I made a chicken, chickpea and spinich korma for tonight, went to friends with presents, got more p*#"'#*d, had a right old giggle, came home and smelt dinner, had totally forgotten I'd cooked it! Happy days! That's like having dinner cooked for me without having the gamble of eating my Hubby's concoction! pint of Darjeeling and sofa for a bit now me thinks! Enjoy the preparations folks, sounds like its all coming together nicely! Good health all!
Brilliant, Fairygirl. I'm in awe of your talent (and thank you for including me in your list of friends). I've just had a lovely cup of tea in bed to celebrate. I've put one on Hubby's side of the bed, but I think he wore himself out yesterday being the chef for the day. And, to top it off, just when he was sitting down at the end of the day with a cuppa and some relaxing chat, the fire brigade alarm call went off on his belt thingie, so he jumped up, got into his special clothes, and shot down to the village to see what help they needed, only to find that they had already sent a team out and it was under control. (Some idiot slashing dry grass, as usual).
I seem to have picked up a cold. Runny nose, sneezing, sore eyes - that'll teach me to visit the big smoke (our day in Canberra). Anyway, with Christmas festivities over, it doesn't matter if I feel a bit off. The only thing left to do now is to ring my late daughters son and wish him happy Christmas. We haven't seen him for nearly 2 years, but his father is supposed to be bringing him for a visit in January. He's now 11 years old. I'm told he has grown quite tall. It'll be good to see for myself.
