Afternoon all, Didn't watch any of the Tennis I was helping Secondborn pack for house move. Her OH is lovely but he is so slow when it come to this sort of thing, he has no sense of urgency at all and couldn't understand why we found it unbelivable when he said that it would be OK to store all the gardening stuff in the dining room until he had researched where to buy a shed. By past experience that could take months and their baby is due in March.
Went back to bed this morning a 5.30 and woke up at 11.00 so did get some sleep.
Love all the Scandi dramas. Didn't see the first series of the Bridge but loved the second. I'm recording the third. Have tried to find the first series but not had much success.
Sorry to hear about your back Lily, I knew you were poorly but hadn't picked up what was wrong. Backs and Knees don't seem to appreciate that we are living longer these days and we need them to be a bit more robust.
Watching Homeland and the moment while I'm catching up on here, I'm about 3 episodes behing but will hopefully catch up by the end of the evening.
Yvie - if you can catch something called The Tunnel - that was a British/French version of The Bridge. They used the Channel Tunnel instead of the beautiful Sweden/Denmark bridge. Pretty much the identical story
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
We had a good lunch out with friends, Boeuf bourguignon, broad beans, Romanesco broccoli and Boulangère potatoes, followed by baked apple and raspberry sponge with cream and mince pies.
Looking forward to Strictly results.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Not long back after race and managed to squeeze some ice-skating in too. Charlie's 1st time and he picked it up really quickly and didn't get upset about how many times he fell. He just kept watching all the other really good ones and trying to copy. I managed a walk around the Christmas market too, but didn't buy anything. all very nice stuff but nothing I really 'need'.
Very pleased with my race result, A PB for me, although it should have been by rights, the flattest course I have ever run and a perfect still day. They also had pacemakers running carrying flags, bless them, really helped though, sometimes I doubt myself and run too carefully. Next race on the 5th December, think I am going to wear a Santa outfit for it, loads did last year and it created a great atmosphere, just not sure I am brave enough though.
Quiet evening planned, not even going to do any knitting, Strictly results show and bed I think, the week ahead is rather hectic, need to on best form.
Must get the rest of The Bridge at some point, watched it at first but not seen it for ages.
Glad the tennis went well, I watched it on Friday but haven't been in since.
Have a good evening all, catch up tomorrow hopefully.

DD - you make me feel tired even on your 'relaxing' days. Whatever it is you are on I want some please
Glad your day was a success Panda - makes the effort worthwhile.
Really enjoyed the tennis - lots of good play but not too much nail biting. Managed to clean the copper ware, clean the log burner (empty ashes and clean glass), wrap OH's birthday presents, have lunch and make some shopping lists while it was on - so I didn't feel too guilty about watching it.
Fairy - as you know I am huge fan of scandi dramas and The Bridge in particular. I am recording the whole thing so we can watch it as a box set when we go away in a couple of weeks time. That way I can keep track of the plot....
Have just found the whole series of Spiral on the Sky Box - recorded several months ago from the same BBC4 time slot. I think that one's french - so might have to give it a go soon.
We watched the Tunnel when it was on. Didn't enjoy it as much as The Bridge - probably because it was such a direct copy - just different languages. But if I hadn't seen the original programme I probably would have thought it was OK.
Time to think about something for dinner now - I am very lazy about catering when I'm on my own - no inspiration at all tonight. Then I shall be settling down with MD.

I almost enjoyed the tennis. Andy Murray is now an honorary Englishman!

Not sure we can allow that doc...
He is always proud to represent his country. In Davis Cup matches - that's Britain. His commitment and passion is unequalled.
DD - have a rest !! You make me feel very idle
