Hmmm - maybe I'd prefer mash to chips Our 'chips' are the healthier version - just potatoes cut into wedges & tossed in a bit of olive oil before baking - so not proper chippies. Smooth creamy mash sounds yummy....
Got drenched walking to the post box but I don't mind as I had waterproofs and wellies on. Time for a shower now though.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Hello folks - I'm back Son has deleted things and installed things and laptop's behaving itself a bit better now.
Horrid weather out there, really dark and rainy and a bit blustery. OH has cleared the land under the tree that's to be felled on Friday, so that branches can be dropped etc - hope the weather improves so it doesn't cause a cancellation.
Hosta - I refuse to be terrorised, but I would much prefer it if you and your OH go somewhere other than Sharm for your holidays for the time being please ((hugs)) the same goes for all other Forkers of course
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
We're in the hands of Easyjet. If they decide to fly, we'd lose the cost of flights is we change now, so just have to wait to see what they say. Hopefully they'll have made up their minds by the time we get back from Cape Verde.
Barnie is certainly making his presence felt here now.
Have planted 4 packets of tulips that daughter gave me. But first had to dig the clay and work in compost. In the long border that didn't get much attention last year.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Mash here to go with a brisket that's been in the slow cooker. Just the ticket for the horrible cold wet day here. Currently 'when will I see you again' temp (three degrees in case you hadn't worked it out ) and has been that since lunchtime.
Difficult decision for you Hosta. You have to do what you feel is right, but we'd like you both to be safe
You can always come up here.....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Got woken before 5am by HRH having a coughing/vomiting episode. Pandemonium in the bedroom with us trying to get the light on and her outside. Yuk. We're wide awake now and she is snoring on her bed. Its as bad as having a baby back in the house.
Edd, Dove suggested the nickname for our poodle while you were away and I felt it was very appropriate. Trouble is she is nearly 14 years old and has a few ageing problems, as do I at being woken up before my essential beauty sleep has been realised.
(Also Camilla and Charles have departed, I think.)
ive been watching your weather over there. We seem to be having the reverse here with another too hot day predicted.

I wonder if Verdun is still missing it.
We've relaxed since the days of the IRA bombs haven't we? We'll have to go back to being vigilant.
Horrid stormy black clouds being blown across the sky from the south-west - I think Verdun and Hosta have combined forces to send them this way
