Edd I missed 21 October, unfortunately my DeLorean is on blocks in the shed and I've lost the key. Such a shame. I probably won't ever get over it. I'll just have to try to cope with the seasons (or non-seasons) as they come. It's stinking hot outside at the moment (1.20pm) and apart from venturing outside to swap hoses, I'm staying inside.
Changed my mind, clouding over and ventured out with the camera.
Looks as though the fly traps might be due to be emptied. They certainly pong! Rose on left is "Pinkie" and rose on right is "nearly wild". Purple mess in background is the Derwentia perfoliata which has gone crazy this year since we had about 20 Eucalyptus trees removed from the hill behind the house as a bushfire control.
lots of thunder, lightning and rain suddenly, so I'd better get off in case I lose the signal.
Good to seeyou back Edd - glad you enjoyed your adventure You asked about our Canadian orchid-loving friend - sadly Bill posted a message a while back saying that he was very poorly and had been told his time was nearly up, but that he didn't want to go without saying goodbye We miss him.
On a brighter note Daniel and the team are working on an all singing all dancing revamp of the website which will mean that the forum should be more user-friendly - last I heard we should see signs in the spring (there's lots to do ) and Nora in the GW office has been appointed to look after us - she's contacted some of us and will be posting more in a while.
OH and I travelled to the West Country and met up with Hosta and Lyn and their lovely OHs, were fed and watered wonderfully, strolled around Hosta's estate and returned East Anglia laden with plants
As you say, lots of new members including Wonky Womble who is my (grown up and married) daughter and has inherited the gardening bug.
Time for more coffee .......
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Morning Lesley. Yes I've put off the traps for a bit longer. A very strong storm hit just after my last post, so didn't venture out into lightning etc. (a good excuse anyway).
