Oh dear Bless you - not what you'd hoped for is it? ((hugs)) Never mind - I've requisitioned an absolutely fabulous summer for us here in the UK - you'll be able to top up your tan in your own garden How's the knee?
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
3.7C here overnight and warming up now - we had some heavy rain overnight so everything is sodden again - don't want to go out there and walk on the lawn - we might sink - and that's on free-draining sandy loam!

I'm looking forward to your promised summer Dove. It's pitch black and throwing it down here. Hosta you'll probably sleep for a week when you get back home.
Liri I didn't realise paracetemol was so expensive in Ireland. It's difficult to buy many at once though. I understand the reasoning behind it but anyone can go from one shop to another and get a couple of packets in each. Hope the move goes smoothly and you enjoy the little ones
Verdun I use loppers at a distance when pruning berberis and then use a brush and snow shovel to pick up the bits. Don't suppose you've got a snow shovel
Verdun - talking about the towans - any good suggestions for country/coastal walks around St Ives - we'll be starting from Porthmeor beach area ... also, what's the local bus service like? I want to use the car as little as possible once we've got there.
I know there's the coastal path but we'll want circular walks.
