Can anybody explain why when it was snow on the ground & sub zero temps, I was walking around in a blouse turning down the thermostat. But yesterday when it was warmer I was bundled up in layers hugging the radiator - & still couldn't get warm? Dodgy internal thermostat I reckon
All that talk of sewing made me get on with shortening some curtains that have been held up with pins since last March - will finish those off today.
Also just seen the ad on here for the free weekend on Find My Past so will spend a few hours on there to decide whether or not I want a paid subscription with them. (Cancelled Ancestry subscription in a fit of pique a few days ago & feeling a bit lost without that reference at my finger tips).
Hope you catch up with some sleep Hosta - sounds like more of an endurance challenge than a holiday this one - and hope Mr & Mrs P'doc are having a nicer time if they're looking in .
Have a good Sunday everyone
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Hosta - you're not having the best time Eight degrees is what we had yesterday - that's almost barbecue weather here....
T'bird - snow's insulating and it always feels better than that miserable, dank, bone chilling coldness.
I'm currently looking through some cds that a friend gave me to find ones for copying. It may take a while - there's four cases of them with about 180 in each case....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Topbird, I had to sit with a hot water bottle yesterday while sewing up my jumper. My OH reckons I need a new thermostat too!
Hazel and Lesley - thanks for good wishes. I'm sure it will be hectic but enjoyable, and the little granddaughters are a delight (especially to me - because I'm only there for a week or so!).
Three shops in the town sell cheap paracetamol so I'll do the rounds!
Hosta, it sounds as if you've had the holiday from hell... but home soon!
Enjoy your Sunday folks.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Have a wonderful time in Ireland Liri - and don't go eating into the paracetamol stockpile whilst you are there . Your grandaughters will love having Grandma to themselves for the week. Hope the house move goes smoothly.
Warm but grey here - we're off to pound a few more footpaths. Not liking the look of this week's weather forecast. I have to say we find the forecasts surprisingly accurate these days (even down to which hour the rain swoops in) ....maybe the South East weather is easier to track? However, i am hoping they have got it wrong for Tues/Weds
Quite warm here too. I could go out for a walk..but I should do the washing and dusting adn find summat for the dinner tonight.
Hope you have a good trip Liri. How strange about the paracetamol...you're not in the jungle are you? That's what there aren't any...the 'parrots eat em all'.
That's a Verdun special

Lovely day here and for the first time for weeks I actually feel ok. Hurrah. I have been swimming, had to do some form of exercise and I love the all over clean feeling you come out with. Managed to do some gardening yesterday too, just chopping and tidying but managed to pull up some nettles that were starting to poke through along with a long trail of roots - felt very good.
Last day of our guests staying (been nearly 3 weeks), actually going to miss them tomorrow, they have become very good friends. Charlie will feel it the most, they have a little girl (age 7) and they have become inseparable. Least they will see each other at school every day. I am sure we will be staying in touch too, the house they have bought is only 10 minutes away.
I might go for a little run later, it is so nice. I got a proper mileage counter for Christmas and it hasn't been out the packet yet, might just give it a go. Maybe, don't want to do too much too soon. Gosh I sound like a wimp.
Anyway, good wishes to all, have a good day whatever you are doing.
