I've got lots of bulbs still to plant too, but as most of them are tulips I'm not worried. I bought some in January one year (bargain selloff at local DIY) and they still came up on time. Ain't nature wonderful!
Have planted my camassias in the meadow and some hyacinths in tubs, but most will have to wait till I have cleared my borders and they are still going strong. It's been a funny old year. Going to do some little bulbs in pots today so I can keep them away from the geese - my gander is very fond of crocus corms I've discovered. They are usually a big help in the garden as they keep the grass short for me. I've only had to mow out the front twice this year!
DD- when you download stuff you don't get the ads - the catch up thing gives you everything. The problem I have with downloads is you don't get subtitles and I have difficulty following what people are saying...
I'd be the same if that happened to me - I'd be back asap to pay in full
Hosta - I'll gladly swap dreich with you for the sorry s***e we have here
re half way through the week.... halfway through the day now too!
Daughter brought home a bit of lemon drizzle cake she made and took to Uni for her 'geek's evening playtime' as I call it. Just had a bit... She does make rather a good one
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
For someone who hates shopping Verdun you seem to buy a lot of plants
Oh - you mean everyday shopping - I hate that too (quite like buying foodie gadgets and nice bed linen tho' )
Wet and very grey here. Have had the lights on all morning.
I too have bulbs to plant but the soil is rapidly becoming too wet and claggy for walking on.
Am considering planting the large allium bulbs in individual pots (or maybe 3 to a pot) and planting them out in March or April when (hopefully) the soil will be a bit drier and I can see where they are most needed to lift the spring planting scheme.
Has anybody else ever tried doing this? - can't really see why it wouldn't work. I'm sure I've seen individual / trios of sprouted alliums in the GC in spring.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Thanks Verdun - I think I'll give it a try with the alliums this year. The borders are still quite stuffed with late summer planting at the moment so (even if I was happy walking on the soil) I'd probably end up planting in the wrong places for a spring show. The beds look so different at different times of the year.

Topbird - I did that with alliums last year and they were fine. I did 6 pots - 2 were planted out as soon as their noses began to show growth, the others got left, and were only planted when they had buds. The first two had much better flowers and looked stronger all round .....so if I did it again I'd plant them out earlier rather than later. Mine were purple sensation.
Your niece is going through it Verdun ...poor thing. Hope she starts to feel more comfortable soon.

PS - Meant to say Verdun - hope your niece starts to feel a lot better soon - must be miserable for her. Lucky to have such a kind uncle
Yes DD, On Demand is a Sky thing. But well worth it.
