  • Hello everyone, I'm just joining in as a newby. Where I am in Australia we've been getting some really hot days, but I feel cooler just reading about all your snow and ice. Don't think I want to swap! Not often I can't get out in the garden at least part of the day. I'd get withdrawal symptoms if I had to stay cooped up inside.

I'm off to Newcastle tomorrow to see Cirque du Soleil. Some of you may have already seen some of their shows. My first and I'm really looking forward to it.

    Stay warm.

Welcome Ginger, I'm jealous re Cirque du Soleil, not seen them live but the TV shows look amazing.

Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands
  • Hi Yviestevie. I've seen them on TV as well but first time live. Everything is so much better seen live. A friend and I go to Newcastle quite often to shows - musicals, ballet, whatever. My husband always says we'd go to the opening of an envelope! We just love the theatre. I live in a small country area so we have to travel 2 hours to Newcastle but it is worth it. We see an afternoon show and still back home for dinner.

I'll let you know what the show's like.

  • Thanks, Steve......bright brisk & sunny, but bloomin cold.

I like to include a few twisty branches when I can, I think they give a bleak/arty look. image mid-picture is dead bracken.

Hi everyone. We've had a quiet day inside with me having occasional dosing periods.  I've read it all, but can't remember what. Just got to bed and ready to crash now. Catch up in the morning.

    Sleep well Pat!

Welcome Ginger!  Good to have another Aussie on the forum.  I saw your comment about foliage begonias on another thread - my granny had a huge Begonia rex in her fireplace for as long as I can remember.  My sister still has a cutting from that plant, a happy connection with the past...

It's great you've been well enough to get out into the garden, Wonky.  Keep well wrapped up!

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
