Fairy Girl - Ha Ha - a snow drift is much tastier than clear sealant. I wonder how long it will last before it's eaten.
OH said to keep the rubber custard on the trifle so I am now feeling very sorry for my visitors who will have to eat it - I will put lots of extra cream on top and try to disguise it.
If they're not happy Forester- tell 'em they can be like the turkey and get stuffed!
I no longer have to cater for large amounts for Christmas dinner but part of the fun is when things don't quite go to plan. I never made anything other than Christmas pudding - those that didn't like it could eat extra chocolates/cake/crisps/nuts instead!
I think you should pour yourself an extra large glass of something and say : iff you don't like it..hic..jjjust bring ..hic..your own #***ing ...pudding...hic..next time... Cerry Mistmas !!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
If Verduns cabin is leaking, It's off to Fairygirls chalet this weekend. For any large folks, I have a special "drink me" potion,to shrink us , so that we will all fit in. No it's not the Bacon herb stuff either.
I did food shopping at 8am yesterday, barely a space in the car park and a one way system needed in the aisles. If we havn't got it, we will go without.
The garage floor is wet, I suspect a blocked gutter dripping over the door, When OH emerges, I plan on clearing the gutter. ( I need him to hold the ladder.) For us, Christmas is us two today, us and my parents tomorrow, the whole family (18) at my mums on boxing day. Because I have no kids, I get to do all the running around, so today is just us time.
Happy Christmas everyone. I hope Santa brings you your hearts desire.
Know what you mean about car parking - the season of goodwill doesn't exist in the affluent area local to me when you watch them parking over two spaces etc. No consideration
Just me and my two girls for our Christmas dinner which we're having tonight as they're going to their Dad's tomorrow. I'd better remember to put the roast on! Just made some cranberry sauce so the house smells suitably festive.

I like your comments Fairy Girl. Yes, I'll give them lots of peanuts, turkey and wine etc and hope they don't notice There is lots for them as I don't eat meat and my nephew who is a chef is going to make the gravy (lots of it) so they will be happy. Hope you won't be too lonely on Christmas day without the girls.
Merry Christmas too Pam, fidget, Dove, Kef and everyone else.
Hi everyone, back from work so christmas has now started here.
After the howling winds last night we lost a couple of fence panels but everything else ok. Roads were flooded here and lots of trees down accross roads so took ages to get to work. Hope everybody is ok.
Fairy love the chalet shame to eat it. Hope you're not on your own tomorrow.
Don't think we'll be eating the 'chalet' lily! Besides - you lot are all coming to sleep in it at the weekend if Verdun's has a leak.... Fence panels can be replaced - you can't - so glad you're ok.
I'll be fine - girls won't go till afternoon as we have presents to open first, and stockings(if they've been good of course!) then I'll go to the cemetery. I could go to my sister's but I quite enjoy being on my own and watching all the stuff I've recorded on TV, and those mint Matchmakers won't eat themselves !
Forester-plenty of good gravy is the key isn't it? And a good roast potato - although I don't make them very often now. I would always have been quite happy with those, roast veg, and plenty of home made cranberry and bread sauce for Christmas dinner

Merry Christmas everyone,
Looking forward to another year of good advice and most of all a good laugh.
