Morning everyone. Very overcast here this morning and we had a very heavy storm last night so I'm keen to go out and check the rain gauge, but the mothers group is out at that end of the house at the moment, so I won't disturb them. (female kangaroos and joeys).  I had a bit of a grin when I let  HRH out for her morning ... And I was planning on checking the rain gauge then, but the nearest mother sat up and watched madam, then went right back to eating the nice wet grass, so I left her to it.

when the storm started, first with a sudden cessation of electricity while we were watching TV, then thunder and lightning, then Hubby scrambling about to reset everything on the TV and computer etc, I suddenly remembered that the bedroom window was open, rushed up to close it and in the dark stubbed my third toe on the wheel of the heater. It's a rather pretty purple this morning! I've got sympathy with Dove for her wasp sting. It's a nuisance.

i can't remember everyone's bits of news, but foremost are those who have been sick/injured and are home recovering. My best wishes to them.  Best wishes for a lovely gardening day.image

runny.. I keep them on the dry side, but not completely so, esp the evergreen types.

Pat: I love a good thunderstorm. We've been in India, Malaysia and Thailand and seen some corkers there.

Hello Hosta. Yes I love a good thunder storm as well.  We used to get some spectacular lightning shows when we lived in Darwin. They are not as good here, but still enough to get up and watch through the window.

how are you managing now. Settling down? It takes a while to get back to normal.

Glad DD's OH is home and the bill wasn't too bad.

Took grandchildren to a cave this afternoon http://www.northofthedordogne.com/grotte-villars.php   we arrived early and there was a café and a playground so we had coffee while the GCs worked off some energy. They liked the cave but G son (4) was a bit disappointed the bears weren't still living in it!

    What is River,?

Hosta, I thought about leaving my Cannas that are planted out, in the garden, not a good idea? daughter leaves hers but she is over the border, it's an overcoat colder here.

Hope, everyone's hubbies have a good night.

    Morning all.

Insomnia strikes again. Awake since 4.30, have given up and decided a cuppa is called for.

Lyn, re cannas, It's the cold wet soil that does them in. If your soils drains, ( unlikely in these parts ) they should be ok, but I'm not leaving mine in the ground.

You're welcome to bring them to me and I'll keep them in the tunnel overwinter with your others.

Pat, same old same old here. I'm seeing the Ortho guy next week to get MRI results. I so hope he's got something concrete to tell me.

Hubby home this evening so need to do a quick tidy up image

Middle of the week guys, weekend beckons.

    Morning Dove,

The overnight rain forecast has not arrived here yet. I wouldn't mind it as it will focus me to get stuff done indoors and in polytunnel.
