My decorations and tree were all packed up and put away today. I must admit the room looks a little bare, but I'll get used to it, there are still little bits of tinsel appearing in unlikely corners, waiting to be swept up.
i going to sleep now, so will hopefully catch you all tomorrow.
Doc - that sounds like good news for your SIL - I'm sure it will have been a good support for her knowing there was a friendly doc on hand if there was anything she didn't understand about her diagnosis or treatment.
Are you off bird watching before your hols? Not many sleeps now
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Am halfway through taking decs down and now wish I had taken BL's advice, could quite happily have a lie down. I will persist though, I can't be doing with dust and clutter, I like the decorations at first but now have an overriding need to clean. I wish I could be more relaxed about everything.

Spent the last couple of hours in Vienna for the New Year Concert, via TV of course, Joan and I loved Austria going many times although Vienna was always the icing on the cake. So many memories all very happy ones, the bridal suit on our 25 wedding anniversary, dancing the waltz on an empty floor with a crowded hall watching, still do not know why that happened. The top of the Donna Tower for dinner during the worst stom in a decade, every one with their backs to the wall and joan in the window clapping the lightning strikes, the lift finally working again and us last out clutching two bottle of very good wine from the manager impressed by Joan. We certainly made the most of our travels Joan not being one for the normal tourist routes discovering things we would never have seen normally.
Very good news about your sil Pdoc. Hope your stream is still behaving itself.
Our decorations will come down sometime midweek. I take pictures down and move ornaments (not that there are many) so there is always something to put back once the decs are put away. I love the way your friends celebrate Topbird but I be struggling to think of twelve little things to buy each of my lot.
The feasting hasn't quite stopped yet as we're having steak and chips with mushrooms, peas and onion rings. Tomorrow we're off to sil's who does a delicious lasagne......then ........ sensible eating.
Have a good walk Fairy - albeit a shorter one than you'd have liked.
RB, thank you for your concern, sometimes I need a bit of bossing about. My OH laughs at my determination sometimes, especially when things don't go according to plan. When teasing me about my inflexibility he jokes about me being on The Titanic- determined to stay on it because I'm going to New York and even a sinking ship won't stop me. I should have a rest .... but those windows look so dusty and if I sit in my chair they look worse.....

That's good news, punkdoc.
I'll put the decorations away when I'm fed up with them, which isn't yet.
Night Pat - sweet dreams.
