Have just read back and haven't read so much since uni! you lot have been busy!
Hope you have a lovely holiday Bushman
Panda, rest love! Hope your on the mend soon! Hugs!
Pat, it must be frustrating but I'm glad they are checking out your symptoms properly, I had to wait over two months once with a worrying health issue and my mind went bonkers! Distracted myself by going to see Prince in concert...twice...and everything turned out fine, so I advice justifying any urge you have as distraction and therefore benefit's your wellbeing! Hugs
DD, I've just caught up with Shadows story, I'm so sorry for your family, I do hope you resolve it all with everyone as happy as possible! Thinking of you all!
Yvie, best wishes to Mum, hope she is feeling looked after and not too frustrated. Good luck withOH eye check up and I hope someone is looking after you amongst all that! Hope your eye is feeling better!
Thanks for missing me Lilyp! I snuck in to have a peep but was always too much to catch up on at once! Been on basement duties as soon as I get in from work!
Window is in, fireplace is in use and hopes are high! We start to move properly next Saturday so much to do! No time off work to do it either! So evenings and weekends only! Gonna have to attach towbars to the cats!
Picture of the new window and our work so far! ......won't load up.......oh yeah...its the weekend!
Morning all. Haven't been here since I came back from daughter's, been so busy. But I did meet DD at an Open Gardens meeting. She's already said that, I started reading back, but there was so much I stopped and came here to post instead.
I hope Dove is having a lovely holiday.
We are going to a wedding this afternoon. Tomorrow it's Harvest Festival then friend's birthday lunch then OH is singing with his choir in a concert. May not get time to come here tomorrow.
Garden is a mess, but hopefully, rain permitting, will get a chance to clear it up in autumn.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
The early morning mist has lifted and it is a glorious day, I have actually removed my fleece, although I don't think it is gardening in only socks weather! Is it the Duke of Bath who gardens naked?
Have fun.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Hi Everyone - what a glorious day (but agree it's not quite warm enough for naked gardening)
Sorry I have been AWOL for a couple of weeks. We had 2 weeks holiday and on return I joined the lengthening ranks of Forkers with medical probs which required hospital investigation, followed by days (seemed like months) of anxious waiting. Was given the All Clear on Thursday (phew!) but didn't feel much like posting while it was all going on.
I really empathise with poor Pat who has been feeling crook & undergoing investigations for weeks now - and all those on here who have been playing the health 'waiting game'.
People say 'don't worry and try not to think about it' but it's almost impossible not to. I sought refuge in transcribing lots of documents because it requires 100% concentration - no room for anything else. Gardening did not help at all - that's the time when thoughts flow freely & randomly - which usually helps sort things out in my head. I have to say 'Hats Off to the NHS' though. Next day referral from GP & seen promptly & efficiently at the hospital. I will defend this service to the end of my days and back again.
Sorry to hear of your pains Panda - pulled or torn muscles can be disproportionately painful. Ice and anti inflammatories sounds the way to go for now.
We had a lovely holiday in Norfolk. We only live in Suffolk & it was a joy to only have to travel an hour up the road. First week was on a boat on the broads. Spent several nights on the mud weight (ie anchored) rather than tying up at moorings with everybody else. It was glorious - just the water fowl, owls, kingfishers and the occasional otter for company.
Second week we were in the caravan in NW Norfolk and had 4 days cycling (anyone who thinks Norfolk is flat needs to cycle round there - some very steep little hills). All cycling involved pubs and seafood - . Particularly enjoyed the pub with a gin menu - started at the top.... Didn't visit any gardens but just enjoyed the sun and sea.
Nice to chat with you all again. I'm off out to plant 30 hellebores and 20 geraniums now! SYL.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
