I know the one you mean Hazel. As you say it really does work - no scrubbing or anything. Hate to think about the chemicals used though - but as I only do mine once in a blue moon it's probably not tooooo bad image

  • Home from a lovely lunch with friend.

Got all pressies on list so all done now except earrings for dil and pressie for OH. We too are only giving token pressies and are going to have a few days away in a couple of months time.

I would like an oven cleaning voucher too. And I am also waiting for the new year to have an oven cleaning man in. Never tried it before but it's a pet hate job so thought I'd treat myself.

Lizzie can't believe it's a year ago since you got your oven, can remeber you showing us a pic after it was fitted. Oh heck time does fly image

    Kef, the mind boggles.....little *****image

  • Hazel, might have to get a box of that...........but still having a man that can firstimage

  • We had an oven man in last year £60 for a double oven - wonderful.  I wipe it out myself from time to time, but will probably have him back sometime next year.  It's like having a new oven image

Well, I'm back from visiting Ma - totally bonkers but happy - they all went out to a garden centre yesterday to see all the Christmas decorations - she doesn't remember going but her conversation was peppered with references to baubles and stars image

I nearly couldn't get home - this is the turning to where we live - the road is totally closed and has been all day - I had to take a bit of a  detour http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/lorry_carrying_live_bernard_matthews_turkeys_crashes_near_notcutts_nursery_in_norwich_1_4340868

Runny - yes John Lewis do have a standard 2 year warranty on all electrical items - but with exclusions - Christmas tree & fairy lights being in the list of exclusions.

might  image have known that before I went in - but I thought a year would be reasonable warranty (or a year and 2 days in my case...). I'm pretty sure the assistant didn't know about the exclusion & I didn't enlighten her. Was that very naughty of me? - maybe - but I think I should be able to get more than three weeks usage out of such an item.

What happens to things in the loft anyway??? Put stuff up there that's working - comes down and it's not image  No mice up there to blame either - maybe it's the bats image

    Bats do wee on things.

We must have passed near you, Dove, in November, went along Eaton Road to Unthank Road - I remember thinking what a funny name. We were researching dining room tables for the cottage.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Yes BL, you went right past us image  Unthank Road was named after a Colonel Unthank, a 19C landlord.  Apparently Unthank Land was land that was settled on without permission of the Baron.  There's also a well-known folk group called The Unthanks.
