Love the yarn bombing photos, Bushman!  Funny how different local authorities view such things; when my daughter and friends tried something similar (though on a smaller scale) in Warrington, they were told they'd be charged with vandalism unless they removed the decorations immediately.  image  But maybe you need permission first?

I've not caught up with much on this forum - still pushed for time - but I can see I'm going to have to investigate possum socks.  image  Hope they're keeping you cosy, Pat, and you soon get some positive suggestions from the doc.

Fake cameras sound like a plan, Fidget.  We finally deterred the folk using our garden as a short cut by planting a very prickly rose (moyesii) in the place they were pushing through.

Yesterday was our fortnightly Park Helpers meeting, when we were intending to do bramble bashing - but got so thoroughly soaked that we abandoned the task after an hour.  They'll still be there in a week, when we'll have another go...  A new and unfortunate task will be to remove and burn in situ, all rhododendrons we find.  A couple of ailing beech trees in the park have been found to have Phytophthora ramorum (sudden oak death), and will be felled and burned.  Apparently rhodies are the major host plant for the infection, hence they all need removing.  Pity - there are some lovely specimens in the "garden" area where the mansion used to be. image

I'm off to York later, to help my son lay some turf.  The weather looks promising for the weekend - enjoy yours, folks!  image

    Afternoon all.

turned out quite nice, so spent the morning moving plants that were in places where I didn't think they worked, one of my favourite jobs, hoping they will look better in their new spots.

Managed to find a couple of plants hidden by other growth, which feels like getting new plants for free.

  • Random post.

Don't like the new Bond theme. Poor Bassey must be sitting in her retirement home and fuming!

  • You too huh? heard it on the radio a while ago and after the intro I felt myself breaking into Goldfinger!

  • A dreadful dirge set to an orchestral score.

At least Adele put some effort in even if her accent made the song sound like 'Scaffold'!

  • I saw a thread earlier and was very confused by the way it ran, then I realised that I had one of the participants blocked! Best thing I ever did on this forum!

  • Well fellow forkers time for me to bid my farewells. Off on holidaybags so need to get ready, packed, car washed etc. Hope all stay warm well and safe. Oh and Steve your right about the new bond theme it's dire.
