Evening everyone. Hope every forker is safe dry and warm. What a time it is round about us. We are lucky to be just north of it all but I was going to try and get to Biggar but doubt the road will be open. All these poor folks flooded out at Christmas  so sorry for them

had a walk around the wood today first time I have managed to get some fresh air and watery sun, heavenly. It's the little things in life isn't it?

BL - I've often been through Killin in late winter/early spring when there's a lot of snow melt,  but never seen it like that. Think it must have been a resident who took the pic.

Glad you're ok LP. I was going to head to the Pentlands today but there are so many issues with roads that I thought I'd just stay nearby today. They don't need me clogging 'em up further.

Think DD is very busy as always - she never stops! image

I must have missed doc saying that. Hope it goes well. Very sad. image

Glad your boy is in slightly better shape RB. You could do without all that going on at this time of year though. Here's hoping he can still have a reasonably good Christmas image

  • Just a quick good night to all. Been a very busy weekend, was helping on school Christmas market on Friday, a national charity event yesterday and today was baking for another fund raiser. Our village raised over ???2500 for the national charity and we are only tiny so we were very pleased. I am still suffering with this awful head cold, sinuses all blocked, awful headache so am off for an early night now. Did manage to enjoy SCD. Had a very embarrassing moment earlier as our new neighbours called to see if the b&b could accommodate some family over Christmas. I had to show them around and all around me was the aftermath of a hectic baking weekend and no time for housework. Not a great first impression but it didn't seem to put them off. I shall have to make sure we are spick & span when they next come.image Goodnight all. Will catch up with you all tomorrow. image

Evening all. Just woke up and read back. I need to move because HRH has an appointment with the Vet for her annual check up and immunisation.

After a stinking hot day yesterday, about 3 pm, it clouded over and we actually got some rain!  Hurray.   it certainly cooled things down.  There's still some water on the concrete parking bay outside, so it must have been a good amount.

Must go, or we"ll be late for the Vet.image

Back from visit to Vet. HRH has the all clear and is now up to date with vaccinations.

nice overcast day today, even a little bit cool. We got 2mm in the gauge last night.

ive been swapping channels on Foxtel, and the only mention of the British floods was a line along the bottom of the screen about emergency services doing something more for the flood problem!  Very frustrating. Plenty of infor about Obama chasing ISIS and our PM announcing some changes.

Anyway, hope you are all OK.

Now I'm feeling sad. Looked out the window and saw a hawk flying off with the little hare  in its beak.   Boo hoo. I was really enjoying watching him every day. image

Morning everyone to come. I've googled the floods and got more info. Mention of Carlisle brought back memories.  My late daughter worked in the Youth Hostel there when she was a single young lady and absolutely loved it there. (I'm talking about 30 years ago).

Im looking forward to hearing more from you all about how you're all going.image

  • Good morning all imageG'day Pat image

Damp and dreary outside - I'm going to head into the city in a bit to get my hair cut and finish the present buying.  Son's and OH's birthdays happen between now and Christmas image

Hi Dove. I wondered where you were and others, of course. We are cloudy and light rain which is very welcome here at the moment. Have a good time shopping.image
