Evening all - the wind is howling outside. More rain coming. Oh well, at least I don't have the worries others have with the wet stuff.
I'm sure Ma will love her dress Dove. Cardi definitely needed - she'll get a bit chilly otherwise
chicky - chuck him out at a bus stop...
DD - do you collapse in a heap at about ten pm? Whatever you're taking - I could do with some of it!
Had a laugh at the blackbird at lunchtime. He was taking his daily ablutions in the pond. A dunnock got too near so he hunted it, went back to his bath and another came from the other side. I could practically see the scowl on his face. Perhaps I need to erect a small curtain...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Edd- did you watch Noggin and the ice Dragon? That's how I was amusing myself on Saturday but couldn't get the link to work. Dove then posted the Mouse one for me - forgot to thank you Dove - sorry
I loved his ( Oliver Postgate) voice, and was enthralled by the Ice Dragon story when I was a child. It was the only one I knew until I was much older though. I always think Nogbad looks like a cross between Terry Thomas and Bruce Forsyth!

Back from choir, loved it and they said I can stay, doing a Carol concert in local chateau on the 19th of December, in French, English & Dutch, better get practising. Apparently I am a soprano, I just sang along enthusiastically and we all had a jolly time.
Lizzie, whilst you're in the mood for gardening you could pop up to me and have a quick whizz around mine, I will be much too busy practising for the concert to garden for weeks yet.
Chicky, glad to hear OH is out and about and sounds quite chirpy, if not a little cheeky.
Dove, lovely thoughtful gift for your Ma, hope she likes it. You also reminded me I need to do something about my hair pretty soon too, thanks.
Hosta, I hope you arrive home safely and the knee isn't too bad, another G&T or a glass of something will help I am sure.
Edd, nice to hear you sounding perkier.
Fairy, I don't mean to be so busy, it just sort of happens.
Good morning Pat, I am sure you will be about soon, I am off to bed now though.
Goodnight all.

Oh dear DD, can't have a quick whizz around your garden. I'm taking ages doing mine. Now winter is setting in all the arthritic bits such as right knee and left fingers are playing up. I want to get a start on it so it will be OK in May for open day.
OH will be singing in two Carol Services with his choir, Riberac and Chancelade. I'm helping with decorating the Abbey and making mince pies and mulled wine and sorting out the Bible readings and who will read them for one of them.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Hello - and goodnight! Long busy day & ready for my bed now. Glad you had a successful shopping trip Dove - I prefer to avoid the city from now till the big rush is over.
Have no idea what Fairy and Edd are talking about - think I'm a bit too old to have enjoyed those programmes myself and have no kids to share it through. I'm very much of the Bill & Ben / Woodentops generation and my teens were spent ogling Oliver Tobias in Arthur of the Britons .
Also had a bit of a thing for Andy Crawford in Dixon of Dock Green on a Saturday night
See you all tomorrow - keep warm and dry.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
DD and BL, your singing activities sound lovely. Wish I could hear it all.
I've been out moving pots of Miniature Roses from the sunny side to a side that only gets zapped around the middle of the day (protected by the house on the east and by a brick wall of the west.) the poor things were looking pretty unhappy. I must say that old age is making this particular job a bit hard. Some of those pots are heavy! and it was uphill.
Topbird, I'm in the dark also with the programs that Edd and Fairy are talking about - a bit deprived here. We only really got TV when we moved to Canberra in 1975. Before that, we were in Darwin and they didn't get TV until about 1971-2. It also required a tall aerial if you wanted it, so many didn't get into it.
We actually got some TV footage this morning on the weather channel which showed some of the UK flooding and a waterfall which hadn't been flowing for a long time. They also showed flooding in Norway. So sorry for everyone who has been affected. It must take ages to get back to normal( if ever). We lost everything in Cyclone Tracy in 1974. We weren't allowed to return because there were no houses to live in and services were non existent. Luckily the Government Department that we worked for found positions for us in Canberra, so we never returned to Darwin. We sold what was left of the house and the land and started over again. Just shows, you can do it, but it takes a bit of nerve.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I think it'll largely be Ice Dragons in the mountains here just now Edd ...
Never found any treasure at the top either - I must be schlepping up the wrong ones...

Hair sounds nice Dove
I'm sure Ma will love her new frock. How lovely you got Pa's favourite colour. Hugs.
