a mild damp autumnal morning out there - there are white mushrooms all over one of the raised beds - superficially they look like edible field mushroom, but on closer inspection the gills are white so are not field mushrooms are are not edible!  They look fabulous though image

  • Thanks Steve, I feel a bit swamped at the moment, Ill Hubby, ill cat, full time work and an hours travel each way, cooking, housework and renovating a basement....I need sleep! Or twenty coffees! It was 7pm before I'd realised I hadn't eaten all yesterday!...so put that right!

Really pleased Chicklet enjoyed her first day Chicky! Sounds like you found a good way to take your mind of it going garden visiting! image

Thanks for the good luck Lesley! I'll need it! image

Coffee Jo? I'm starting already! image

Dove, hope yesterday went well! Talk later, big hugs! X

Hope everyone has a lovely day! image

Dove my lawn is springing up with mushrooms: very strange as it's never done before but I swear you turn around having cleared them all away (don't trust the dog) to find six more pop up and wave at you.

Very autumnal this morning: cold, that kind of moist that soaks you before you realise its wet out, and generally just not nice. I'm hoping the sun might burn through if only so I don't need to have all the lights on all day.

Have you heard that our lawns are turning frogs?!

  • Good morning Clari and everyone else image

Not sure about that frog gender article - it seems it refers to frogs in the USA "...The findings were tests carried out at 21 ponds in southwestern Connecticut in 2012...."  Don't see how the newspaper can say that "...Britain's love affair with an immaculate lawns and grow-your-own vegetables may be having an unexpected impact on frog population..." http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/health/news/11850084/Frogs-a-courtin-trouble-on-tidy-lawns.html

Wonky image  take it steady - it'll all come right.  ((hugs)) to your lovely hub.  Don't forget to eat!!!!!!!!!image

Morning everyone. I've a quiet day - harvesting some greens, then finishing off knitting the dog coat for the pet shop customer. I'll take it in tomorrow when I take little miss Poodle in for her 6 weekly shower and shave.   I've not finished the scarf yet, but fed up with it at the moment.

Hope you all have a good day.image

  • Morning all.

Lovely and sunny here again this morning. Summer seems to have come back here this week. Hope it lasts for a few weeks, don't want autumn yet.

Think I'll sort the shed out this morning and get rid of some of the empty pots that seem to be breeding in there.

Glad Chicklet had a good first day. Looking forward to Wisley pics.

When we cut the grass the other day there seemed to be a few frogs hopping about.......no ones got a pond nearby.....

Hope flatters is feeling better Wonky, oops and OH of course image

Have a good day everyone, take care.

  • That sounds wonderful Verdun - only 9 more sleeps and we'll be on our way! image

  • Good morning again ........ Update for Flatface the Cat fans - I've spoken to Wonky - Flatters has an appointment with the vet this evening. Wonky has been reminded that 'of course she's tired - she's had all summer lazing about in the garden image  Getting back into the swing of things was bound to come hard ... (am I a tough mum or wot? image)  I've also told her that the occasional convenience meal rather than cooking from scratch in the middle of a busy week isn't a crime image
