New Year's Day flower count Stacey.

As many different flowers as you can find on NYD. They have to be properly out and not dead. Weeds should be counted, catkins, anything you can find.

My totals over the years have varied between none (heavy snow cover) and 40 or more. It's taken very seriously chez nut.

I am willing my daphne to open - lovely fat buds tinged with purple, ready to burst any day ...... But will they be ready by tomorrow?  The excitement mounts .......

  • Good morning, definitely for the last time this year.

Suggest we rename this thread " Happy Fooders" given the last day or so... and here I am struggling to be good image.

Shopping next, to get in supplies to feed friend before we go off to our New Year's Eve  do. Planning on " Winter Vegetable Chilli", not too many calories ( unless you have 2 helpings) and should soak up the alcohol nicely, methinks. image

  • I don't think I have any open ATM think my count would be 1 as the astrantia is still flowering!!!!

  • Oh and what's nyd???

NYD, new years day. I nearly asked that.

When we do the count, do we include berries & plumes on grass, heads on clematis etc..or is it just flowers. If it's flowers my count would also be one, Polyanthus going strong. Don't suppose I can count stuff in GH, if I can the count is two, pelagoniums still flowering.

Verd will have to get up early to count and bet result won't be in until I'm in bed image

Well, that's two weeks running I forgot to put the wheelybins out.I might need a well stuffed person to jump on the contents and squash it down. One of the neighbours is away, I suspect his bin might get the overflow. It's all calm on the weather front here.  Have a good day everyone.
