I'm glad he's at home recuperating, Runnybeak. Its a lot easier than hospital visiting. After last years palaver I've come to hate hospital visiting.
We're having a birthday/looking at wedding photos party on Saturday. We couldn't have fireworks at the wedding venue, so for Saturday we have fireworks to set off early, then lots of drinks sorted. I just need to decide what we are feeding them.
Gertie, we would never laugh I did wonder what the sewing references were about, I must have missed your post! I did sewing for one year at school, 3rd year, and can still remember how to do everything, including French seams OH bought me a beautiful sewing machine for my birthday a couple of years ago and I am ashamed to say I've used it once
Panda so sorry to hear the sad news of your Uncle. Best wishes and hugs x.
RB, thinking of you and your son. Sending best wishes and hugs to you too x
Pdoc, good to see you, hope your OH finds a new job, so upsetting and so near xmas too. Take care hope to see you often. Sending hugs and best wishes to you both.
Lots of sewing and knitting going on. I've just started a little top for my little poppet.
I've just come back inside after harvesting, yet again a full mixing bowl of strawberries. I also picked some broad beans. Hubby is weeding the pathways between my garden beds (thank goodness) because I can't be out in that weather too long (24) at the moment. The trouble is, when you come back inside and have a drink, the sweat just pours out of you. Not my favourite.
When I came inside, I had a phone call from a woman who I've known since 1975 when we first moved to Canberra from Darwin. She is now 89 years old. She wanted a supply of lavender for a friend who is making up bags for Christmas presents. I've weighed up 250g for her. I might put a bag of strawberries in for her as well. That'll get rid of some of them. We've both been cooking them up every day, but I'm getting fed up with it.
Glad Punkdoc responded, even though he is probably not feeling social, I'm sure we all understand and wish him cheerful supporting thoughts.
Sorry about your uncle Panda ((hugs)) Please pass our condolences to your mum.
P'doc - good to see you ((hugs)) It must be so tough for you and OH - I know all the stuff about one door closing and another opening etc sound so trite, but they're often true - fingers are very crossed here.
