Steve, in case Wonky doesn't see ... yes, cat abscess - in exactly the same place - no new wound. If you remember it was cleaned dressed and treated with antibiotics, then the abcess reformed and was treated again. Now there's a large hard swelling again in exactly the same place.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
The kettle is on; help yourself to tea and coffee. I'm afraid I don't have any buns but I do have my first cold of the season I did expect it: we've two chaps properly full of snot and coughs who were insistent on coming into the museum every day rather than consider the rest of us and stay at home resting. I did my best washing my hands religiously but I think I will wear my BA set next time.
I really hope I don't have another winter like last year battling cold after cold. I've already started the immune booster Dove suggested but I'm thinking spraying everyone I meet with detol might not be enough.
The garden is positively alive with frogs at the moment: we counted 30 under one piece of wood! But sheltering with them were the biggest slugs you could imagine:do frogs not eat them when they hit a certain size? Hopefully the hedgehogs might harvest those monsters: certainly they'll help with the pre hibernation weight!
Right: I'd better crack on with my to do list. I'm hoping now the school holidays are over I can get back into a better routine and start preparing the garden for winter. So many things didn't get done this year I wish I had the funds to get a strong man in. Unfortunately I'm currently pretty much funding the classroom activities at work so even my plant budget is decimated.
VetSteve, I've only used the tool on the beds. It pulls the docks and dandelions a treat. I'm a bit like wonky that if I tried it on the lawn I'd have no lawn left! Might get less in the beds though...
Hi Clarington and Lily. Hope the sniffles don't get too bad for you. Just had a phone call from my friend in Melbourne and she is in bed with influenza!
and yes Lily, the blowies never fail to surprise me. They ram the glass with their heads and come back for more, darned things.
Whenever I get called in to work to cover someone who is sick, the loo and handbasin gets a good bleaching, then door handles, phones, keyboards and pens get wiped over with dettol wipes. The staff think I'm OCD but its just self preservation. If I go out shopping, the first thing I do when I get home is wash my hands.
I managed to avoid the last flu epidemic, when all around me were going down like flies.
