I think I'll talk about the weather, to cool things down, for a while. I've got a mid temp day with winds blowing gum trees every which way here. The promised rain in the last week didn't eventuate.  Mind you, thelands all know something is changing.  I just had my first blow fly for the season trying to beat in the door and then hanging around outside the window while I was cooking a new supply of Poodle tucker.

Darned spell checker! I typed "the plants" , not "thelands" ,  the Blow-fly is the precursor of summer joy! I must check the supply of Mortein.

I've got some tomato seeds just poking their heads up, so I must think about some other summer crops to start off soon. It's all full steam ahead now.

As a postscript to yesterdays fire brigade fiasco, Hubby told me this morning that they bogged TWO trucks, not one.  No comment!    image Well mostly because I'm lost for words.

Best wishes to all of those with probs.image

  • Afternoon Pat. Morning all others!

Had a first go of my new Fiskars weed puller yesterday.  Amazing!  So quick and easy to use and great fun.  So satisfying seeing 4 inches of taproot hanging out the bottom of the tool!

after that, a trip to Wisley is planned (got a day off).  Yesterday's water gardens were lovely - will post pics on appropriate thread later.  A few new buddlejas followed us home ......including this beauty

She's called Sugar Plum Dove.  Longstock have the National collection of buddlejas, so there were loads of different ones to choose from - our car smelt lovely and

    honey-ey on the way home
