I think I'll talk about the weather, to cool things down, for a while. I've got a mid temp day with winds blowing gum trees every which way here. The promised rain in the last week didn't eventuate. Mind you, thelands all know something is changing. I just had my first blow fly for the season trying to beat in the door and then hanging around outside the window while I was cooking a new supply of Poodle tucker.
Darned spell checker! I typed "the plants" , not "thelands" , the Blow-fly is the precursor of summer joy! I must check the supply of Mortein.
I've got some tomato seeds just poking their heads up, so I must think about some other summer crops to start off soon. It's all full steam ahead now.
As a postscript to yesterdays fire brigade fiasco, Hubby told me this morning that they bogged TWO trucks, not one. No comment! Well mostly because I'm lost for words.
Had a first go of my new Fiskars weed puller yesterday. Amazing! So quick and easy to use and great fun. So satisfying seeing 4 inches of taproot hanging out the bottom of the tool!
first day at a new school/college for littlest chicklet this morning. Keeping fingers crossed she settles in quickly. New routine, involving trains to get there, so my first task is to deposit her at a station - then its over to her
after that, a trip to Wisley is planned (got a day off). Yesterday's water gardens were lovely - will post pics on appropriate thread later. A few new buddlejas followed us home ......including this beauty
