Another 4am awaking for me this morning. I think I fell asleep again about 7.
Totally knackered. I think I did more than I should have done yesterday. I didn't stop cutting the grass until 6.50pm and still got a couple of hours to do to-day.
Watched refugees trying to get out of Hungary being put on a train and taken to a "processing centre" Am I the only person whose blood ran cold and thought of Auschwitz?
Waking at 4am - that's something that I do (it used to be at 2.22am precisely ).
Think it's a bit of stress/anxiety/over-active brain stuff. I put Radio 4 on very very quietly so that my brain has to concentrate to discern what's being said - that way it doesn't go off on a tangent and worry about stuff. It works for me. ((hugs))
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Funny you say about the 2.22 thing. I go through phases of waking up at exactly the same time for weeks, then the time changes, but it's the same time exactly.
Wake up and think , it must be 4.13, and look at the clock, and up , it is.
The brain's a funny thing, well mine certainly is.
Hosta and dove I heard a good tip from a doc who said if you wake up in the night don't look at what time it is as you then start stressing how many hours till the alarm goes off and you have to get up. I have tried and it works, I have to get up at 540 when I'm on shift and it used to be awful to wake up before and worry bout how long or how little till I have to get up. It truly works not to know what time it is and yes I do the radio trick too, I put lbc on and listen to the chatter and then I'm gone!
I was awake between about 2 and 4am and got up and watched recorded TV. I've decided that next time I wake during the early hours I must do some chore, like cleaning the cooker, defrosting the freezer or tidying cupboards. I'm sure that will keep me in bed - I hope
I like the idea of not looking at the time Beaus. Gosh you do have to get up early when you're on shift.
Morning all, No problem sleeping at the moment, it's getting up that's causing the stress.
Mum is back from hospital, to quote her ' I'm feeling much worse than when I went in'.
Firstborn was back in casualty this morning cellulitis is not receeding, not sure what's happening there.
No news on hubby's op, phoned hospital and the secretary wasn't there so had to leave a message.
I look like I've gone one round with Mike Tyson instead of three.
P'doc hope you get back in the garden soon. Hope all other poorly peeps are improving.
Medical issues out of the way.
I too feel very sorry re the refugee problem. If the politicians actually did something constructive instead of blaming each other and talking about it we might be able to help more.
Still haven't done any gardening, must clean out the greenhouse and get the insulation put up. Still have loads of my friends plants in pots and it's getting in the way so will try and repatriate them over the weekend.
No plans for the weekend, hope everyone has a good un.
Been busy, trying to get ahead before Charlie's party tomorrow, I let him invite all his 'best' (??) friends, thinking they wouldn't all be able to make it, how wrong could I be! Looks like all 19 are coming - eek.
On the plus side the hedge man (hurrah) is here doing a fine job, not even stopping for coffee breaks.
I have been watching news and newpaper reports about the poor immigrants, terribly sad. I was trying to explain it (gently) to Charlie and he just couldn't understand a) why they had to leave their own country? and b) why didn't the new countries just give them a house and a job? if only life was that simple.
Right off to make cakes and biscuits, will see if I can spare some for you all later, cheer us all up.

Give it a go and see if it works for you
BM, I try that, not looking at the time thing.
As I'm not at work, technically I don't have to get up, so , if it's dark, I just try to get back to sleep. Just doesn't always work.
Much worse when I was at work and had the alarm clock set.

Ended up a blubbing mess, again.
