  • The ash tree has two quite large trunks from just a couple of feet above the ground, so it's like felling two trees really - hence it costing £550!!!  Glad he knocked a bit off for the logs.  However, that does include grinding the stump out - that'll happen in a couple of weeks' time.

Wow - that's quite a bill!  (as the nuthatch said to the pelican).  Still, cheaper than having it fall on your house.   Is it all done now?    Bet the view is changed considerably!

Been to supermarket. Going to dinner with son 2, the dentist, tonight. His MIL is staying with them for the weekend. She's French, I like her.

I have heard from Lyn, probably been busy, sure she'll be back. Gardening is winding down now.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

That sounds dreadful RB image  My sympathy - I'm not very good at that as a rule but... y'know....

I have to say, I've never been a fan of dogs in general and of poorly controlled ones in particular, and this reinforces my view.  I hope they throw the book at the owners.

  • Thank you Pat, will have a look. Night night, see you tomorrow.

Oh RB, words fail me. But thinking of you and your family,  wish I lived close by. Take care of yourself too. Sending best wishes and hugs xx

Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 Section 3 seems applicable.

Maximum penalty is six months imprisonment or a fine, or both; if it goes to a Crown Court, up to two years.

  • Rb ((hugs)) for you and your family - you must all be feeling so stressed and angry.  image

The tree is down - I've chosen a large log to keep in the garden as a 'coffee table' - now the men are clearing up.

  • Ooh Dove I was going to say about making a little table or do you have thinner slice of trunk to put candles on for a display for xmas .

Thin slices of branches for table mats/coasters?  Keep you in presents for ever!
