I had similar thoughts, when watching them. The cameras focussed on mothers and children looking really frantic. Makes your heart bleed for them. It's always the same. People making life hard for the inhabitants in their own country then trying to stop them from making a new life elsewhere. But where can they all fit? Most countries aren't able to take that many. Who know where it will all get sorted out.
Hosta, you do realise, don't you, that you'll never get to sleep now. Your brain will be full of images of people jumping over wire barricades and crying mothers and frightened children.
Think about a peaceful valley of flowers in a meadow and you lying in it, soaking up the morning sunshine! ( I once went to a hypnotist who told me to do that). I was so surprised at the idea, it didn't work.
Well I've been out for an inspection and the bad news is that the last of the turnips have got spring fever, so the compost bin has a new layer of leaves and I've got a sink full of turnips to try to think what to do with. The good news is that the broccoli also seems to be catching spring fever and is busily pushing up lovely heads - at last. I noticed, from a distance, that the Manchurean pear has flowers and the Plumcot as well. So, the plants know more than our night temps seem to indicate. All good.
Where is everybody? Arent you awake yet? If it's 4pm here, it must be 7 am there. I know, it's the cooler nights and you're laying in bed a bit longer. Can't say I blame you.
The migrant situation is sadness and desperation beyond belief - we have to do something to help, and it has to be done in a positive organised way, not reluctantly and piecemeal - so that those who come here have the support they need to integrate and feel part of the communities they have fled to, rather than become alienated and resentful - otherwise there will be generations of trouble ahead for Europe as well as the Middle East.
And Hostafan - get your point

Good morning Pat You snuck in there while I was typing - yes, I had a bit of a lie-in and OH brought me my first mug of coffee in bed, rather than me coming down and doing the honours!

Just so. As it should be. I was first up today, so didn't get my coffee in bed. He got a tea in bed instead.
i agree with your comments about trying to integrate them. We've got similar probs here except ours arrive in leaky boats from South East asia. Don't know how the situation is going to get resolved around the world.
If people are going to integrate, they've got to be made to feel welcome.
I think we managed it fairly well with the Ugandan Asians who came to Britain when Idi Amin threw them out - most of them are now well integrated members of the British community. It could be done again if we put our minds to it and stopped turning our heads and passing by on the other side.

Hosta - you're right - about the situation not the police...although you could be right about that too, I didn't look! We keep saying 'it must never happen again' when we refer to Nazi Germany. But it is happening - right under our collective noses. Politicians could lead the way. All those nice second homes and plenty of bedrooms....
Off to work then on me hols. See you later. Have a good day
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
