    Afternoon all.

In sunny ( ish ) Hants.

Left home at 8am . 4 hour drive and the wipers were on all the way.

    Mercifully light traffic.

Julie, how was your journey yesterday? I hope not too stressful nor the weather too miserable this week for you and your family.

Dove, Why do you think I'd be looking in the boot of your car?? image

Good news on the garden WW.

Just caught up with that hideous accident with the jet. We've driven along that road countless times.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend/ hols one and all.

    Devon.

Whereabouts are you Steve? Do you have any Grand Plans for an expedition?

We were sailing off the East coast which (I have to say) was really pretty boring sailing - brown water, relatively long distances between harbours and no islands to seek shelter in. Favourite places to sail are the Ionian and in the Clyde. Similar scenery and sailing - just different weather!

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

YESSSSS. Usain Bolt. The thought of a twice convicted drugs cheat winning would have been too much.

Rest of the weekends sport has been a bit of a disaster though.

Anyone seen Wintersong, haven't seen her for a while?

Hello folks!  Ma returned to The Lovely Home just in time for her lunch - not sure if she'll have room for much after tucking in to the ice cream - and she has a quarter of liquorice allsorts to share with her 'friends' i.e. the carers who help her 'because they like me'.  image  We walked along the sea front - it was lovely and sunny and lots of families on the beach, but the wind was very strong and the sea was as rough and choppy I've ever seen it in the summer!

We got back just in time to watch Usain Bolt win image  Did you hear me shouting??? imageimage  I shouted at Mo Farrah yesterday too - I always do!   I love watching athletics - son ran 100m for Suffolk Schoolboys for a while, so I 'feel involved' image

Now we've had a quick lunch and I feel shattered - think I may nod off on the sofa - give me a shout if the athletics gets exciting image

    Hi everyone!

    Happy birthday, Fairylet!  image

Yes, exciting athletics.  Had the cricket score on the computer while we were watching Bolt et al - best way to see the match I'm afraid...  image  but the series win was great.  image

After yesterday's fireworks, it was a surprise to wake up to blue skies and warm sun this morning (and a strong breeze to make things more comfortable).  Cloudy now but I've finished doing the things I need to do, leaving time for something I WANT to do (ie gardening!).  image  Need to talk to the runner beans, which have produced only one bean so far... and remove more weeds, of course.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

It's just beginning to rain here in Norfolk - according to Wonky it's been raining in Suffolk for quite a while.  This'll fill the waterbutts up. image
