We were out in the garden till late too, still so warm and very peaceful. We weren't as lucky as you Dove, heard some rustlings but a hedgehog didn't actually come out while we were there.
Off out this afternoon to see my granddaughter again. Think we were supposed to have a bbq, but the weather doesn't look promising at the mo.
RB, hope you're feeling a little better.
Hope Ma is well Dove, enjoy ice creams......can I have a 99 please
I have a sort of allotment, Pat, but it's rather gone wild while I've been away sailing (or rather repairing the boat, but that's another story!) this summer. However, I do quite a bit at another sort of allotment/garden (which is very sunny - completely open in fact, in an old walled garden and from which Iget some of the produce) and in two gardens of friends.
Warm and sunny (and too hot too sleep last night, especially after that curry) hre in N London.
Enjoy your time in Cornwall, Dove; the Eden Project is on my list of places to visit when I can sail down that way....not before next year now, I fancy.
Ferns, yes. Good idea, FG. I have plenty of foliage - mostly foxglove and green alkanet which between them have entirely taken over the border and crowded out the primulas. Must sort it our for next year.
Another scorching day in Suffolk! Just a pottering day as injuries do come in threes and I now have a totally ****** neck....no idea how.....just is!
Had a conversation with the landlord yesterday, sounding him out on our plan to move to the downstairs flat,.....basically situation is .....SIL lives in downstairs flat and garden goes with it...she has let us share but is moving...I can't loose the garden or i will go nuts so we want to take her flat and have the garden....was so worried that landlord wouldnt allow but he doesn't see it being a problem! have been worried for over two months! also Papa womble says he can put the window back in the basement and add more air bricks to improve three room cellar hubby is now finally on board with the idea as he realises in the long run he will have an entire floor of the house underground where he can make as much noise as he likes! He was very sulky initially, sacrificing his current set up for my garden!
Hopefully the move should take place around October!
Dove, send love to Gma, hope she enjoys getting out and having an ice cream! Have a lovely day yourself too! X
The boat, Fairygirl, is still not well . She's had:
new solenoid, bushes & brushes in the starter motor
new diodes and other stuff I don't understand in the alternator
a lucky escape after a so-called engineer failed to put any oil in the gearbox
fuel supply problems which I've narrowed down to the injector pump
and now has water in the oil which is (at the very least) a blown head gasket.
I'm now looking at spending a lot of money on a replacement (possibly new) engine. The most annoying thing is that I only need the engine to get in and out of harbours, and to charge the batteries. It's supposed to be a sailing boat!
Clearly, I bought the wrong boat.
(bet you're glad you asked) And happy birthday to your sleeping beauty.

Steve - I want to use this
but this is more appropriate
I know nothing about boats or sailing in general, but I do understand the attraction of it all. Perhaps you need one of these instead....
