Morning all. Hope you don't mind me joining your chat. We're off to the Eden Project today, though i couldn't find my 2 for 1 card so hubbie was frowning at me last night. Last time i was there i came away with a bougainvillea and hubbie loves the generous sized scones and cream there.

Fairy - did little fairy have any exam results recently? If she did I hope she was happy.

Good morningimage.   Lovely sunny morning here.  Hi Julie, have a good time at the Eden Project.  It's many years since I visited and would love to go back some timeimage

Enjoy Dumfries House LilyP.  I saw a programme about the restoration on TV ages ago and it looked very interesting.

Good luck with sorting the car out Happy Birthday little Fairyimage

Happy 18th to the littlest Fairy - hope she has a fantastic dayimage

expecting torrential rain soon - think I will have a day catching up with gardening magsimage

wandering round the garden last evening with the camera made me realise just how well my cleomes are doing this year.  Last year they were rubbish - so chose a different spot for them this year, and think I've now got it rightimage

  • Good morning all. image

All the guests breakfasted and gone, just one room staying over until tomorrow and then a fairly quiet week - hurrah, except someone sneaked in and booked 2 nights for Tues/Weds last night. They gave an English address and sounds like an English name but stated on booking form preferred language French, so not quite sure what they are. image As long as they are nice I'll be happy. image

Rained in the night but looks like it will brighten up now. Might get some more time in the garden later but do have to show willing with the i*****g and have promised Charlie a visit to a fun day being organised by local village later. Fun for whom I ask myself. image

Saw the article on BBC about baby Pandas and thought of Panda, always nice to welcome a new addition (or 2) to the family. image

Good day to all. Will pop in later on coffee breaks from the dreaded i*****g. image

Chicky, are the clerks the ones that look like fireworksin your photos last night? I think i bought some seed for them (for next year) a few months ago. Any advice gratefully received.

Lesleyk, we'd be going to the Eden project anyway but they have a dinosaur exhibition on at the minute and son (aged 3) loves dinosaurs.

Julie - yes, the cleomes look like fireworks - they seem to like quite a damp, but sunny, spot.  They certainly weren't happy on last year's dry sunny bank.  I found they do best sown really late - about April.  Have fun with yours next year.  Enjoy Eden.

DD - when the alternative is i****ng, then even a fun day will be funimage

Fairylet is currently lying in her pit - as befits a teenager of her advancing years...image

Julie - she did have a couple of exam results in early August and did fine thanks. She only did a couple of extra ones, as well as a vocational course at college 2 days a week (our school system is different in Scotland)  She's still deciding what she wants to do - definitely having second thoughts about what she originally intended doing!

Sunny skies here-  we're to get that rain tonight chicky, but we don't have such high temps so it will probably not be as thundery as the south. Would have been good for walking today but don't think that would go down too well...image

DD - hope you'll get a little bit of peace and quiet soon. You've been working so hard all year.

Saw that prog too Lesley - it was excellent.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
