Morning all. Not long woken up - well about an hour ago (6.25am). Poor Hubby has been up and down all night with what is obviously food poisoning. Bucket, and wearing a track to the loo (lucky we have an en suite). Have given him a large glass of electro lite stuff, but he's still going. I can't help feeling guilty that I've slept through the night as usual, but can't do much about that.
The story seems to be that instead of eating our home made cheese and pickle sandwiches, the two of them stopped at an out of the way place and had a meat pie! Der! Haven't heard from his mate yet, but assume he has had a similar night. I'm not sure whether to take him into Cas/Op or keep giving him electrolyte stuff and wait it out. He says he's not sure he would make the 25km journey without having to stop on the way for you know what.
Rang his mate's place and his wife, who is a pharmacist, said he's fine. The story is that Hubby had steak and kidney pie, mate had bacon and egg pie. Her advice is to keep doing what we are doing. Trouble is, that I only had 3 sachets left and he's now on number 2. Hopefully, if he is feeling better by the time he's had the last one, he'll be well enough to check his fire fighting cupboard and see if he has a supply there. Otherwise, I can see myself driving into town for a new supply.
Pat, hope your OH is feeling better - you don't need to drive into town, you can make your own DIY rehydration drink - it's a mixture of 10 parts sugar to 1 part sea salt, dissoved in water. Very simple You just need to get the proportion right as too much sugar can make matters worse!
It's a lovely morning here - and a mini heatwave is forecast - and apparently Norfolk is the only place that isn't going to get tornadoes and storms today, so I suggest you all come here and I'll get the sun lounger and the BBQ out

Thanks Dove. I'll write the proportions down. Unfortunately, ive already had to drive to town to get another supply because he's still going (top and bottom) and I didn't want to have to go in at night. He's sleeping again, so assume he'll be ok before too long.
it makes you mad that such a silly thing can throw every thing out of kilter.
If it's food poisoning (and it sounds as if it is) then you should report it - there's obviously a hygiene problem or systems breakdown at the café - that sort of thing can cause real real problems for the vulnerable - and do take care of yourself too - E Coli and that sort of thing are contagious!

Morning all,
Lovely day here, 30 degrees forecast but a storm warning for tomorrow.

Pat, hope OH is feeling better by morning, nasty.
Enjoy your mini micro-climate heatwave Dove.
More gardening for me today, feel like I am actually getting on top of it again, for a bit.
Good day all.
