Busy-lizzie. I've just had a long look at the presenters site, thanks.
I think I must be tired - it's been a long day. Some of the presenters named are new to me, some I do recognise. Thinking back about the various gardening programs I've watched here in Australia, as well as your UK ones, there have been ups and downs in all of them. The one thing I would like to say is that I'm so glad that we get to see any of them at all. Imagine what TV would be like without them. We get to see new plant varieties, we learn where and when to plant them, etc. etc. AND, we get to encourage new people to garden. I'm a fan of them all.
RUNNY - You do make me laugh - I'm not sure you can say that about Carol K - but it cheered me up no end.
Dad's do funny things don't they? - I suspect the Oxo thing was a hang over from time in the forces. Sort of thing you'd get in a yomping rations pack.
Bit of info for you in the iPad thread - hope it helps
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Back home and raring to go into the garden and start on my sky high weeds but I suppose I'd better unpack and put the washing on first.
LilyP I thought of you as I got off the M74 to Lanark. The sun was out and everything looked spectacular. I remembered you saying how your spirits lifted as you approached home
I forgot to tell you about my premium bond win last week ..... a whole £25 which will join my £60 garden voucher (from birthday in March). Have just got to decide how to spend it. I love problems like that.
We're back from our walk around the marshes - two more tubs full of wild blackberries We've seen so many wild flowers, dragonflies, damselflies, fish, birds, ducks etc, as well as hearing (but not seeing) woodpeckers all around us. Such a lovely walk and so unspoilt - a few dog walkers and some cattle grazing in the distance. Now I shall flollop with a coffee for half an hour before making poached eggs on toast for lunch.
My ex and his father used to have Oxo and bread for breakfast
I quite like a mug of hot Oxo (only 10 calories) or Bovril on a cold day - you used to be able to get it in Purdy's coffee bar in Ipswich in the 60s- some people had it made with hot milk!
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

The foot of Ben Nevis is probably the best bit Susan ... It's an ugly hill.
The lochan is lovely though, where you can go round to do it by the arete - I'd love to go back and do it that way sometime.
I had a quick google of Bennachie - looks a nice walk. I didn't do my first Munro till I was 50, so hope for us all yet!
I really have to go out now - I've run out of milk for tea.
Then it's outside to get a few jobs done.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
You are catching me up Fairy, although I haven't done 1 for nearly 10 years.
