I took some croissants and Danish pastries out of the freezer last night to bake for brekkie this morning - they're nicely risen but I won't put them in the oven just yet 'cos OH is still sound asleep. You'll just have to make do with coffee for now ...
Back to the frozen croissants ...... we have never used them here. There is a farm shop attached to the GC where littlest chicklet has just started working, and everything goes through the same tills. On week 2 a lady came through with a bag of frozen croissants with no price tag ......littlest chicklet radioed through to find out the price of dog chews. Luckily, the customer had a sense of humour
Can't decide whose breakfast I fancy the most - love scotch pancakes but could quite fancy a croissant - especially if ther's a chocolate one lurking somewhere,,,
Definitely not Marmite though - reminds me of my Dad dissolving an oxo cube in hot water to drink - yuckity yuck yuck. I think it was something people often did in the 40's & 50's but he kept right on doing it till the bitter end.
Trip to the SM a bit later (25% off wine so time for mini stock up) and might pop in to Wyevale on the way. My least favourite GC but they might have something in the sale.
Enjoy your Sunday everybody.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Scotch ones are thick and small and you spread them with butter or jam - as opposed to a thin one like a crepe. Welsh cakes are similar but they have currants in them.
I had pains au chocolat this morning instead of porridge
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Day in the garden for me today - a few weedy patches need attention, the lavender needs trimming back and some cuttings need taking. And the foxgloves I have been talking about potting on for weeks are about to jump out of the seed tray of their own accord if they don't get their promised attention soon
Dragged Mr Chicky on a garden visit yesterday afternoon to West Green (national trust gardened by Marilyn Abbott). Lovely walled garden, but very little else. The water features are all waterless, which is a shame, and the tearoom courtyard, and inside, have the greatest number of wasps I have seen for years. Luckily we had our GW 2 for 1 card - at £8 per head its not cheap
The farm shop stocks frozen croissants and Danish pastries - they're very popular with the people who run B&Bs - when OH is cleaning the freezer/refreshing the stock there's always some left that are just too close to their sell by date to put back ... staff perks
They're ready now folks!
Help yourselves ........

That's it topbird. Stock up. That offer closes soon.
I'm no fan of wyevale either, but it's the only one nearby.
I have to drive past it tomorrow on my way back from Xray at hospital, so I might have to pop in.
Just for a look, obviously!

Oh Dove, I've had nothing to eat since breakfast yesterday.
Right, water polytunnel, then breakfast.
