  • We were promised rain and only got drizzle!

Awaiting bloods on my own dog to see if I can work out why she has been throwing up.

@LesleyK, no one apart from little old ladies think I am dishy!

Steve,  hope it's nothing serious and if I might ask a vet question  (don't worry it's not about my sick pooch ) is being a vet as adrenaline fuelled as SuperVet makes out,  great program but I do wonder sometimes with the sleeping in shifts and impossible muscle flexing surgery image

Still, an incredible achievement considering you have to know more than a doctor!

Oops, avert your eyes Pdoc image

  • She has thrown up rather more than the once in a while I have been used to. Popped positive on a pancreatitis in house test so I am awaiting the external lab report. Mostly these are controlled by diet so I am not worried but thanks.

Being a vet has it's moments. I am in general practice so I am more at the cutting edge of snot, poop and pee. This evening's consults revolved around eyes, ears and swollen feet. Four hours!!!

Steve (from a little old ladyimage) I hope your dog is going to be treatable by diet.  Our last dog had pancreatic insufficiency and the 'magic powder' added to food saw her back to normal for the rest of her life.  Possibly vet's, like doctors know so much that they worry more when it's one of their own.  Wishing you well.

I was perturbed by the thought of bendy laddersimage.  Then I got itimage.  Keep safe up there Winter and Jo ( fingers crossed smiley).

  • If her bloods confirm it, it is the other type of pancreatic disfunction. She will just need a low fat diet.

Lesley, I'm still wondering about bendy ladders! imageimage

Hosta, those hostas look lovely.  And you were in Sussex!

  • Evening all,

Feeling very guilty because despite my best efforts haven't managed to get into the garden - again - so many other tasks keep calling me, imageimage but OH has agreed to let me get the hedge man in - just for a quote - but it's a good start! image

He has also agreed for a painter to come and look at the hall stairs and landing - just for a quote - hope he doesn't think that will fob me off for a while - cos it won't! image Like Wsong, bendy ladders don't appeal and in actual fact even a long pole sounds like hard work - I also manage to get paint everywhere and that's just opening the lid so hall stairs & landing definitely out of my comfort zone. image

Hosta & Lesley, well done for making it through the traffic, absolutely the best thing about living here, no traffic jams, can never see myself driving in UK again - yippee and any noise pollution here is from farm animals, birds and unidentified wildlife - heaven. image Long drive for a decent GC though and never any cake or coffee when you do get there, but no traffic jams either. image image

Well good night all, been a busy day, added to by Shadow needing a bath because he rolled in something absolutely disgusting, don't think I could be a vet dealing with one doggies issues is more than enough. image

I surprised a hedgehog and a frog by the greenhouse tonight, and then a huge hog by the bird feeder. I've put out water trays all over the place.

The sweet peas have suddenly been inundated by green fly. The runners have black fly. I need emergency ladybirds or the blue tits to get stuck in.

Now I'm wondering how many dishy men post here! I'm a little getting older lady!image

DD you wouldn't think that about no traffic jams if you had to go in or out of Périgueux in rush hour, especially on market day. Can be a nightmare! Used to do the school run for years.

I actually did quite a bit of gardening this afternoon, 2 barrow loads of plant prunings, including 3 smelly santolinas, are now on the heap. Got quite hot as bed is in the sun. Planted 3 more of the plants I bought from Beth Chatto.

Went to fetch car from the garage looking filthy with disgusting unwashed hair. Am now cleaned up.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
