Hello all!  image  Recently returned from our all-day rehearsal in York.

The raspberry cake was much appreciated - only one slice left, which we brought home for tomorrow's tea.  Lucky I made that and not the chocolate guinness cake, since a kind friend in the choir had somehow worked out it was our anniversary and made... a chocolate and guinness cake for us!  The afternoon rehearsal was a bit slow and sticky.  image

It's noticeably warmer and somehow more "summery" here than it was this morning, with lovely summer flower scents.  image  Might get a bit of gardening done tomorrow, though I need to make sure I'm packed and ready to fly to Ireland on Tuesday.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Where are you going in Ireland, Liri? I have some happy memories of riding holidays.

Been busy since grandchildren arrived. Daughter is putting them to bed, late but it's the holidays.

No smilies for the naughty girl it would seem

I've been reading back but wasn't able to comment, only found out how to fix it when I noticed the particular thread. ..

re Astilbes, Panda I'd give you my three adult plants if I lived nearer, I'm fed up with watering them ! Really fed up. Shouldn't keep Astilbes in my sandy soil but I bought them before I knew what they like

It's true wot they say. After two bottles of champagne (best veueve cliquot), you don't notice the third bottle is prosecco. Hic.

Good heavens, I wouldn't get that far, I would have been image before the end of the first bottle.

Haven't been to Galway. Been to Dingle and Wicklow. I hope you have a lovely time Liri.
