I hope my old geography teacher wasn't watching last night's GW.
The lovely Carol was visiting Logan garden in SW Scotland and both she and the gardener said it benefited from the Gulf Stream.
As my old teacher was at pains to scream at us
" it's NOT the gulf stream, it's north Atlantic drift. The gulf stream starts in the gulf of Mexico, goes north to Newfoundland , at which point it moves east and is called North Atlantic Drift"
Good morning, I have the weekend gremlins at work again reverted back to Basic
Seems there has been a little friction on other threads. I was taught to "think before you speak" I think in a forum this is important
Have a lot planned in the garden today but had a rotten night so may have to do it all slowly!!have had notice from the council saying our trees blocking vision of a sign, so I am off to get a saw out
Happy Saturday!
Weeds are flowers, too, once you get to know them.” A A Milne
Morning all. What's the matter with the forum? Looks OK - for the moment!
I'm going to plant the rest of the plants I bought in the UK. I have gaps where the tulip were. Had annuals in the cold frames for the gaps, didn't plant them before we went to the UK as I knew the house sitter wouldn't water the flower beds, but he forgot to water the colds frames so they are all dead anyway.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Happy Ruby Anniversary Liri - hope cakes (of whatever variety) go down well. Knew your CV would be tip-top Panda - hang on in there, your dream job is going to appear very soon.
Gardening on the cards for me this weekend .....visible weeds must go (others can get on with it til autumn :O), some foxglove seedlings to pot on, and armfuls of sweetpeas to pick (sorry LilyP). Was going to take some photos, as I am super pleased with it all this year, but looks like I will have to wait til Monday to post them.
Last night we had our very first GH tomato of the year .....haven't grown sungold before, but verdict was good .....yum yum
Am popping into town today to get some metal clips to attach some wire mesh to my shed for clematis climbing as my previous efforts (string) broke and the plant is growing away on the floor (embarrassed smiley) (mesh wasn't held up by string, plant was). I might also get some nails and mend the broken bits of slats too I'll have a handyman afternoon
