    Morning all

OH's dentist was a bit difficult, he had an extraction at the front side and a denture fitted, which we thought was odd when they planned it a few weeks back, so he went home with a nice smile but then we thought it best to let the air get to the wound, but taking the denture out was nigh on impossible and there was lots of blood and unnecessary upset!

Today it's very sore and we won't be going anywhere near the denture for a little while image

I'm at home today, lovely pleasant day, hope to be in the garden with more driving lessons later. But yesterday Flynn caught a baby bird under a shrub and it was terribly upset as were we, although it survived, the sparrows now squark with alarm every time they see him

He's a gentle thing, I guess it's just a game and his terrier instinct. Of course we shall try to train him out of this image

I think that fitting dentures immediately after extraction is quite normal nowadays.

Harrumph!  I'd just been out to select some pots for the bearded iris rhizomes Wonky gave me, and was getting ready to pot them up and ............. the heavens have opened image

At last a day when I'm not going out and nothing is planned and it's sunny but not too hot. So I will be able to do some serious dead heading and tidying up.

My daughter's cat is staying until next week when she moves into her new house. My cat doesn't care for him much, she'll be relieved when he's gone I think. Anyway, he caught a mouse yesterday and brought it alive into the kitchen. It went behind a radiator and I left the door open and removed the cat so I hope it got away.

It was a good party last night, yummy food.

Wintersong, did the dentist ask him to take the denture out so soon? If it's left out the gap could close a bit and the denture could be too tight. I'm not an expert though, son is a dentist.

    Hello all,

Been out testing my new bicycle (with Charlie & his pal) couldn't quite keep up with them but wasn't startlingly out of breath as on my previous bike. There is hope....image

Garden looking much perkier after some much needed rain but now the grass needs cutting. image

Guests have gone out for the whole day so I put off doing their room until later, now later is looming and I am trying to summon up the momentum to go do it - knew it was a mistake to leave it, should have got it over and done with earlier - full change of beds today image .

I am however, going to visit a chateau later with Charlie & his pal, they are having afternoon activities for the children, so I am hoping to find a spot to have a coffee and cake while they participate and there is a lovely nursery enroute - too close to go past. image

Enjoy your perambulate around the garden Pdoc, well done to Caroline, won't look now or the room will never get done but will have a mooch later, enjoy your free day Lizzie, they don't come around very often. image

To everyone else hope all is OK and will try & catch up later. image

    Hi all!  image

Just checking in before lunch, after a busy morning treating woodworm in the sideboard.  The living/dining room has a parquet floor, bought 2nd hand by a previous owner of our house from the office of a mill which was closing.  It's lovely, but I fear we will lose it - the house is built into the hillside, and we have damp periodically coming up under the floor, and now woodworm (which I understand loves damp wood - not so hard to chew!).  Drastic action is now required, by someone who knows what they're doing (ie someone expensive...  image)

Runnybeak, my heuchera 'Plum Pudding' looked like that this spring.  I watered it with vine weevil killing nematodes, and it's looking a lot perkier.  Just a thought...

Punkdoc, not sure that listening to the cricket is a very relaxing activity at the moment.  image

Glad you've got some gardening done Wonky - every time I went outside I was reminded of that Travis song ... you know the one?  image  so I decided to do some baking - got the cake tins lined, the oven hot and the ingredients weighed out ......... and the sun shone and dried up all the rain image

Now that the cake's nearly baked we've got heavy black clouds overhead again - I'm giving up and I'm going to sit on the sofa with rubbish telly and my knitting - after all, I'm supposed to be knitting this for our holiday in September and time's moving on ..........
