    Morning all.

I hope DD's OH has been released from hospital now.

Small (4) grandson woke up at midnight, He cried and cried but couldn't say why. Probably strange bed in a different room with Granny not Mummy. Long cuddle and he went back to sleep until after 9am. Granddaughter also slept until after 9am. They went to bed on the late side as there was so much excitement at bath time it took some time to calm them down for bed. God knows what was in the pizza last night. Going to visit a cave this afternoon.

Oh bu$$er! BU$$ER!  BU$$ER!!!  There I was, enjoyinf the sunshine, potting up some spring bulbs, when I took firm hold of a bag of compost and disturbed a queen wasp who was inspecting it as a potential winter home.  She stung me on my ring finger!!!  OUCH!!!image

I've taken my ring off and applied antihistamine cream but it's swelling and my hand and wrist are tingling.  OH has tidied up my bulbs, pots and compost which will have to wait  for another day.  image

Dovefromabove  you have my sympathy , just had lunch , going back into garden , what a lovely day image

  • Ooh Dove that sounds painful. image I started to move my compost the other day and disturbed a wasps nest - not been brave enough to go back since. image

OH is home, hurrah. image He was let out at 11, I knew that nurse was going to have her own way, image Even then we had to go down to the office to get him 'released', French bureaucracy at it's best.

The bill, thankfully, was much less than we expected (not that we had any idea) but it was a relief we won't have to take out a mortgage for it. Apart from his new diet and exercise regime which I am going to enforce he has strict instructions now to sort out proper medical insurance and make an idiots guide of how to manage household bills and stuff should he ever go back in hospital, I promised to collect a whole pile of idiot proof recipes together for him in exchange. image

Lovely day here now and I am going to try and get some bulbs in too (whilst trying to keep bandage clean), otherwise they will be spouting in their bags. image

Hope you finger is not too painful Dove, catch you all later. image

Cheers folks image  I think I'll survive!  If it was anywhere else I could carry on potting, but my hand?!?!? image

I've always had an aerosol of Waspeze in the house, but do you think I could find it today?  OH has gone into the city to get chrome cleaner for his bike - he's going to go to Boots and get a new can of Waspeze for the next time we need it. image

Glad you've got OH home safely DD image

  • Dove, soak it in vinegar. It neutralises the venom.

Done that too Steve - organic cider vinegar image (I'd been pickling onions earlier). And I've had so much pickle and chutney lately the sting's being soaked from the inside too image

Ouch Doveimage.  She should have sounded the buzzer to give you some warning.

So glad that your OH is home now DDimage.  I suppose he'll have to rest up for a while.  It takes something like that to make you realise that you need to find out each others modus operandi (my French isn't very goodimage).

Rb I'm pleased to hear your OH didn't show signs of concussion but I bet it's very sore.  Loved the thought of your GC in the bubble bath with their cocoaimage.

Hope your little grandson has a better night tonight Lizzieimage
