Gawd another weekend of hard digging at home. Have removed about 4 tons at least of soil that was dumped at the front of the house and all the way up to the front door to make a wheelchair ramp by previous owners. As nasty a job as you ever saw - a bit like a massive rockery covered in soil from a field somewhere image

Currently burying utility pipes - gas board coming to move meter on Friday then the whole front of the house is going to be a veg/cottage garden. There is loads of street parking so we don't need concrete. Also unlike back garden it's full sun - knackered though.

Afternoon image I'm back, and a little bit tired! Had a fabulous weekend, and so did the Guides image The weather was great, and what topped it off was receiving my 100 nights away badge! This shows how many nights you've been away with Rainbows/Brownies/Guides . . . first person in my unit to get it image Not bad for a 27 yoimage

Congrats Wonky on the job image Hopefully mine is just round the corner!

Congratulations Panda - now you've got to sew it on!!! image  Glad the weather was kind to you and the guides image

My Under-gardener has been a hero this afternoon - he's emptied one large compost bin all over the veg patch where the broad beans used to be, and turned the contents of the other bin into the empty bin image

The blackbirds and robins are looking for worms and bugs now.  I'll be planting out the purple sprouting broccoli this week image

Hmmmmmm Verdun, dual nationality in this house so we all happy

Panda congrats, you should be proud,

Dove, do you sub contract O H ? we have a compost bin bursting and everyone finds a different job to do when I ask for help!

Harvested my herbs this afternoon and made lots of butter combinations for the freezer. Really lovely to have during the winter months.

The rose jam turned out a bit more like rose syrup but was a strong rose flavour, delicious over ice cream.

Picked blackcurrants, and put two and a half pounds in a litre of vodka to soak for a few months.

Next lot are going to be jammed. Sugar is 39p a kilo at farmfoods, 49p at lidl, 59p at Tesco. Every little helps, although I did get a funny look when I bought 10 bags.

    Turned out sunny here now.

    Well done Panda.
