We were only commenting at the weekend that the two lads (10ish and 7ish) who live behind us seem much quieter than most - then yesterday we heard the bouncing noise of a trampoline - but even then they didn't do too much screaming/shouting etc. We're lucky
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Oh, Bill, I'm so sorry. So was the 'flu you had at Christmas more than just 'flu after all? You said you thought it might be. I hope Grace is managing and you are both being well looked after. I will miss you on this site.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Another hot day. Hay farmer has just been. He will deliver some hay for the horses as with this heat and lack of rain the grass in the paddocks is drying up.

Hosta, I agree. The thing that gets me the most is that the parents constantly have to tell their kids off and punish them all the time but it doesn't seem to work. The two boys are the worst offenders at home and school and yet as parents ourselves, I never let my three boys make noise and rarely had to discipline. They were never naughty at school either
Took a short trip to B&Q for batteries but didn't find any sticky labels. They had white Lupins and pink Salvia and Veronica but all a little bit too pink for me. I need to fill gaps with the subtle stuff so might take a trip next week to GO
Wintersong it's the stock answer of " they're only playing" that gets me.
"NO, they're behaving in the most selfish manner possible and disturbing everyone around them, why? because you're so selfish you just let them, and too lazy to stop them"
Exactly Hosta - and perfectly put . Mine were never allowed to scream and yell constantly and disturb other people, and my neighbours (at that time) were the same. Someone suggested to me that I should wear an I player and headphones. I won't repeat here what my answer was but I expect you can guess. Sloppy, lazy parenting - if you can even call it parenting - and it's rife.
No heatwave here - hazy sun, oppressive dark clouds, and some rain - thunder on the way I think . Hope it just goes past although I love a good thunderstorm
I want white Liatris for a few gaps W'song. They have them at the nursery but I don't have time to go.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
It is oppressive Fairy. Great midge weather any I've only just ordered my midge hoody. Promise I won't be seen outside making sandwiches but when watering near the bottom hedge and trees I certainly will be. Plus having my trousers tucked into my socks and long sleeves into gloves. Winter - what's a bikini?. Think I'll just be pale and interesting when on holiday.
My two boys used play in the garden...football, cowboys etc.....had a make shift 'den' but were never allowed to be too noisy. Likewise neighbours children. But think parents now like to let them 'express themselves' or they're only 'playing' Sometimes i find it impossible to read in the garden.
The 2 boys next door are fine, its the little princess 3 doors down i'd like to gag!
I'll send some sun to anyone who needs it, its scorcio here......only sharing tho, still want some here
