    Good morningimage

Fingers crossed Wonkyimage.  Happy new glasses Pandaimage  I'm getting mine tested today but I know I'll need new ones.

I watched Beechgrove last night Susan and it was as enjoyable as always.

Not too sure of seeds to sow for this year Wonky, maybe candytuft and nasturtiums.  Have a look at some of the seed suppliers sites which give a. Onto by month sowing guide.  There are plenty of perennial seeds to sow now for next year.

    Good luck Wonky.

Hope you find something soon Panda, still in your pocket x

Off to SM and maybe a mooch round shops later.

    Have a lovely day everyone.

    Morning all!  image

I'm hoping for better luck posting on here this morning.  For some reason my 2 attempts yesterday disappeared - trouble with our internet connection I think.

Verdun, it's great news your cousin is walking and talking.  Hopefully the confusion and memory loss will gradually improve with time.  Brains have amazing powers of healing.  image

Hope you hear good news, Wonky!

On Wednesday afternoon our U3A gardeners had a lovely time in Halifax at Dove Cottage nurseries.  (They grow a lot of the herbaceous perennials and grasses sold at NT properties in the north.)  Their "prairie style" garden, on a windswept N-facing slope, was lovely, with whispering grasses and bees humming in the salvias.  I managed to restrict myself to only 2 plants image - a viola and a Sanguisorba albiflora - and have squeezed them in...  I really MUST NOT BUY ANY MORE PLANTS.  image

Today I'm going to be planting wild flowers on the bank behind the house.  In the drizzle, accompanied by midges...  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

gosh I am late in here this morning, was up really early too.

Verdun so glad your friend was nit as bad as you feared, they say the first few hours are crucial and he obviously got good careimage

Wonky for fast results I would go with nastirciums, they never fail and are lovely colours

its very very heavy here but wind is starting to blow up. Must get the new clematis in!

    have a lovely day

Weeds are flowers, too, once you get to know them.”

Thanks for the seed suggestions Liri, gonna give them a go when I've pricked out the zinnias for space. image

Had a call from the job, they are very, very keen, but the boss isn't in til next week now so won't have a final answer til then but she didn't want me to think i hadn't got it, which doesn't mean I have, but looks promising! Thanks for all the good luck wishes, think we can uncross fingers for gardening purposes and safety reasons and cross them again Monday/ Tuesday image

Nice to have company when planting Liri, not sure midges would be my first choice.... Best of luck!

Have a nice mooch SGL, shopping best done at mooching pace I think image

So....I went to the range to buy some cat food, it actually is the closest shop......thought I'd just stick my head around the garden section nearly dead shelf.....image ......forgive me gardeners for I have sinned...... 2 red hydrangea, £1.49 each, 2 delphinium blue bird, £1.49 each, one veronica inspires blue, £2.99, and 3 arctic snow lavender at 99p each! imageimageimage

.......I did remember the cat food with all that distraction so I'm quite pleased with myself! image

Looking promising re your job  WW image

Don't spend all your first wage before you get it though.....image

    Still raining here image

Will take older fairy to work and go and get some 'stuff'. Might get some of this new area of grass sown but would really like a whole day to do the entire area without interruption. Difficult when I'm at work so much and walking on the only good day we seem to get at the weekend just now image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    Hello

We have just taken Pippin for a bit of retail therapy. Like all girls she really enjoyed herself being fussed and petted and complemented by all. She chose a red spotty collar and lead set and a bag of dog food. I chose some special stuff to spray on floor .........A short car trip as well, seemed a little better at that as well.

Keeps trying to rain here, we have had some large rain spots but not even enough to wet the patio,

I planted one of those sanguisorba's a couple of months ago. Just love it, it is in my white garden.

Pleased your cousin wasn't as bad as feared Verdun. speech will slowly return but will be frustrating fro him, memory is longer. My mother used to say she knew the faces of people but could never remember exactly who they were. Never got me wrong thoughimage
