I don't yet know whether I'm going back to Wonky's today - she'll be having discussions over coffee with her lovely hub, then we'll chat and make a decision. I'm not stiff thankfully - my main tasks yesterday involved assisting in the choosing of paint and decorating materials and wrapping belongings left by the previous tenant. It's a bit difficult as in any other case the landlord would put the stuff in a skip (he's a bit like that anyway) but she's a relative and working abroad so Wonky and her hub are going to save stuff that looks as if she might want it - packing it into boxes and putting it in the shed. She's taken the major stuff with her.

Your boxes came in useful then Dove. It must be very difficult to decide what someone else would want to keep. I'm reluctant to get rid of years and years worth of GW magazines that I can't bear to throw out - but I really must. Someday.
Morning all - another misty start but not as pea soupy as yesterday and the sun is coming through
I'm a champion chucker-outer. Oldest fairy will come home to an empty room if she doesn't tidy up soon... Not the first time I've done it...
Lesley - I hope you're not buying in to the 'mean Scot' stereotype with hubby re the 'replacement Valentine' tree
Having a short walk after work with one of the girls coming with me next week. Think she's slightly worried about her fitness for the hills....
Off for a quick look round before I go as I wasn't on much last night. Watching Collision - anyone seen it? Excellent. See you all later - have a good day
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Morning all. Balancing out Verduns warm with cold and a thick fog: think I could cut it with a knife when I was out earlier with the hound!
No school in today so I can deep clean the classroom again to ensure it is completely vomit free. I get a little bit carried away with how clean my classroom should be even though I've already scrubbed it. Small people seem to have so many many germs. I've lots of paperwork to catch up on too and lots of little projects ticking away than need some tlc. If you could send tea and cake and more hours in the day I'd be most grateful.
I keep wondering whether I could find a plant that could live in the classroom to add a calming, cleaning the air, type colour to the room. It would need to survive very cold temperatures (no heating when its not in use and it can drop to outside temperatures) but come summer (and when you've 60 children in and the heating on) it is also very warm. It could have a plastic globe on it to help keep it warmer.
Does anyone think an aloe might survive this environment? After all it is BURN related so links in to the theme of the museum!
Much pea souper than yesterday here but Wednesday cleared up beautifully so hopefully today will too.
Happy days to everyone.
FG I worked with a chap many years ago who shared a room with his brother. They came home from school one day to find all their worldly possessions on the front lawn and mum standing at the front door saying "I told you to tidy or this would happen!!!!"
My friend moved too yesterday, it's taken forever, he sold his own house in March to a 1st time buyer, been so stressful for him. Now he starts a new fantastic job, and has a new home in a a smart area of town - he just needs a new girlfriend now and he will be happy - 'new' is probably not the right word actually - 'a girlfriend' - poor chap just can't get one at all and he is so, so nice. Perhaps I should start a new thread How to solve a problem like ......
Glad the eye op went well too, sounds awful, especially the sitting up sleeping bit, if it were my OH he would be sent to the spare room for that I'm afraid.
Busy day here today, classes all day and then really must get Charlie to the barbers after school, he looks very hippie like at the moment and then finally running club tonight, 'just a jogging session' - they say, we'll see.
Have a good day all, and Clari if you're bored I'm sure my classroom would like a good scrub down too.

We have wall to wall blue sky here (just bragging ).
I've just been making plans with Wonky - she's planning to be painting the new sitting room today so I'll stay here out of the way today and go over on Saturday. Her hub is working today but has Friday and Monday off and they both have Saturday and Sunday, and there are still volunteers available ... looks like it's all working out ok ...

Thanks very much for the positive thoughts and good luck sent! A very productive day! Cake bribe worked a treat! Thanks Dove! Mmmmmmm everyone worked until 7pm lots got done! Dove is right, isn't she usually?.....a lot of wombles in this neighbourhood, one mans trash is a wombles treasure! The last boxes of picture frames, coat hangers ornaments etc on the drive, grew legs after dark and found a new home!
Sounds like everyone on here has been busy too! Hope everyone has a great day!

Morning all,

Well Fairy he wouldn't commit to buying an extendable hedge trimmer or a platform ladder
. That's why he had to do it
.
Plant pauper I'm still threatening to throw out younger son's 'junk' and he's in his 30's now
.
Clari I'm no expert but an aloe could be a possibility. It does get cold where they come from too. Good luck with the deep clean
