    Night Pat, sleep wellimage.

Just watching the news about the agreement made on climate change.  Don't know why they had to turn all the heating off though.  It's flipping freezing hereimage.

Good luck with the op flowers.  Hope LilyP gets some good news about treatment for her back too,

It wasn't me partying in your garden Dove,  How strange.  Do you sleepwalk?image

Got to ferry son around soon and then get on with decorating the tree and everything else that stands stillimage.

Climate change agreement has gladdened my heartimage.  Slowly and quietly people are coming to their senses.

Mr C has the welding machine out ....A little light metalwork to keep him out of mischiefimage.   I certainly married a rum'unimage.  Still, the neighbours will all be getting rusty, ball topped plant stakes for Christmas .... We have lots to thank them for this year, and I can't think of a better way of doing itimage

Hubby's conducting another concert this afternoon, hence I've been able to pop on here again.

Very best wishes to LilyP and Flowers - fingers crossed for you both!

Strange happenings in your garden Dove.  It's normally the local youth when that sort of thing happens round here...

I need to make another batch or two of mince pies, so thought I'd try a different pastry recipe.  I'm making Jamie Oliver's sweet shortcrust with lemon zest, and will report back on the result.  (I suspect my Granny would be tutting at the idea of putting anything as outlandish as lemon into pastry, but never mind!)

It should be rested by now.  Have a happy afternoon everyone image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

LP, glad all went well , and how kind of you to ask about others. Bless you.

"the knee"  isn't loving being back in the (relative) cold and damp of Devon, but hey ho. I see consultant on Dec 22nd to discuss surgery.

Mercifully no frost here so far this season.

    Devon.
  • We don't really have 'local youth' here - not in that way - some nice families but no mischief-causing lads etc.  Wondering whether the two nice little boys behind may have lobbed a football over the fence - it's happened a couple of times before and we've lobbed it back - they might have sent their father round to rescue it and if it was in the pond he might have used the trug to scoop it out of the pond, but that doesn't explain the piece of pot being moved  ....................

image  Aha, as I was typing that it came to me ... if a football came over the fence and knocked the dish off the pillar of the birdbath, then the piece of pot would be just where I found it - and if the boys father came around to rescue said ball he would put the dish back on the pillar, then use the trug to scoop some water from the pond to fill the empty dish - but he wouldn't have known that the piece of terracotta pot needed to be put back in the dish would he?  Mystery solved ... I told you my offspring call me

    image

Of course, the father should really have rung the doorbell and asked for their ball back, but I do remember closing the blinds early yesterday evening and perhaps he didn't want to disturb us.  He just didn't know he was dealing with a super-sleuth image
